The primary function of a hotel is to provide facilities for rest and sustenance for weary travellers. After a testing 9 hour drive from Zagreb I was looking forward to freshening up, having a nice dinner and then a good night of sleep ready for the next leg of my long drive from Istanbul to the UK.
On arrival we were informed that as the hotel was understaffed in the kitchen and front of restaurant that they were not allowing any further guests to eat in the restaurant that evening,
So instead of rest and recuperation I had to go searching on foot for somewhere to eat in the area, which frankly was the last thing I wanted to be doing. It also put me in a bad humour.
I ate somewhere else that also only had one person in the kitchen and one person in front of house, but they seemed to be able to bang plates of very decent food out at lively pace.
We understand that many other guests were similarly inconvenienced, but I doubt that manyof them had driven for 9 hours to be so inconvenienced. If I could mark it lower using your system I would.
Room fine, breakfast fine.
