"Amazing staff, especially the receptionists on the morning shift when checking out on 10 Dec. I needed some emergency repairs on a broken luggage wheel and both of them were so obliging to help with different tapes, and even supervised my work until I was satisfied!"

"Very clean, traditional Japanese style room with ocean view. Breakfast buffet was my favorite part. The hotel is simple, but beautiful. Hours are limited to the public bath (onsen) and restaurants. If you plan on using the public bath, there’s specific ours for men and women."

"Everything about our short stay was lovely. The town was very quiet while we were there - our stay was primarily to visit the castle ruins (which we recommend!). Very charming town. The inn was very relaxing and we enjoyed the on-site onsen, and the excellent Japanese breakfast. The room was WONDERFUL. We loved the traditional architecture-with modern amenities-and the room was clean and had very comfortable and quiet. The bathroom was modern and the complimentary drinks in the mini-bar area were perfect for our short stay. The staff were very nice, professional. "Excellent place to walk around Amanohashidate. It is just beside the sea, and around the important tourist areas. For the price, it was OK. The thing I didn't like was no toilet inside the room! So if you have to go to Number 2, you have to wait because there is only one "throne" available. Breakfast was amazing! Dinner was very tiny, expensive, and without any good taste. "

"We only stayed one night. We had a large, modernized Edo-era two-story apartment (bedroom, dining and living; toilet and soaking tub/shower) with a private courtyard view in a building separate from our friends in Sasayama Castle Town. We could walk throughout the town with our friends and visit each other's full-sized apartments (complimentary shuttle also available with pre-arrangement). Yukata and jacket to meals and can be worn in town. Ours had Western beds and full private toilet/shower and private soaking tub with garden view. We stayed in early April and Sasayama Castle had a festival and the town was full of cherry trees in full bloom, especially along the river. We should have allowed more time to experience the many shops and tradesmen and Edo history and demonstrations throughout the Castle Town. It was a convenient train ride from Osaka with hotel shuttle, but accommodates driving very well. It worked well in combination with a side trip to Kinosaki Onsen between Osaka and Kyoto by train. The Ryokan meals (breakfast is included, we also bought the dinner) were fantastic and more than we could eat. Emphasis on creative uses of locally sourced in season meats and vegetables including rice and locally crafted pottery. Very creative delicious dishes. The chefs are top of the line! The alcohol and drink selection featured world class local and international options. Several of the staff speak English very well and foreigners and families are welcome. "
