Gimhae Airport (PUS) is about 45 minutes on public transport to the west of the South Korean city of Busan. Gimhae Airport (PUS) is in the Daejeo 2 area of Busan and is located on the leftbank of the Nakdong River. Hotels near the airport make a good base for trips to Busan attractions on the nearer side of the city including the Fishing Village Folk Museum. The Clayarch Gimhae and Gimhae National museums are nearer still. The latter houses a unique collection of Gaya exhibits.
South of the airport, and on the shores of the Sea of Japan,beaches atDadaepo and Songdo are heaven when the sun is shining on hot summers’ days. The modern Busan-Gimhae Light Railway is a convenient option for travel from the airport to the National Museum and central Busan. It has interchange stations with the city’s Metro lines 2 and 3.
The area that Gimhae Airport (PUS) is located in is mostly an industrial zone with small factories and warehouses the primary feature. Restaurant options are restricted although there are a few eateries serving up the likes of pork rice soup, pizzas and Korean barbecue. There is not a big selection of shops in Daejeo 2. Gimhae Airport (PUS) has stores selling travellers’ articles, clothing and mobile telephone packages. The Sky Gallery provides ease when buying souvenirs as it stocks paintings, small statues and other typical Korean items. Gwaebeop Renecite Station is two stops on the Light Railway. The area around the station has more choices when it comes to buying fashion clothes and electronic devices.
