We stayed at Tenuto Centroporte for a week and had a lovely relaxing time. The on-site restaurant was fantastic, no more expensive than many of the restaurants in Otranto town but definitely superior, with great food and service. The food was local, interesting but not fussy, with a selection of daily specials for dinner (we really liked the swordfish and the orecchiette with mussels and chickpeas) and a continental breakfast buffet. Staff were very helpful and mostly spoke excellent English and the "basics" just happened - clean room, free wifi, easy car parking, space to leave luggage. You definitely need a car or really enjoy walking as although it is close to Otranto - a lovely town - it is a ten minute drive. Most of the sights and beaches are really only practical to drive to - lovely sandy beaches North of town and the beautiful medieval city of Lecce are easy drives and well worth visiting. The rooms are clean and comfortable, simply furnished which is just what we like, and effective air conditioning. The pool area was nice with comfy loungers, plenty of sun and shade and a large pool which was a little chilly but fine once you were in! We stayed in late summer and we seemed to be mosquito magnets but thankfully had taken some repellent with us so they weren't too much of a bother.
