Some meintenance of toilet paper holder and such items can be adjusted. However the rest is amazing I loved the place the location the service. Also having restaurant part of hotel was amazing.

This is a stylish and comfortable small hotel right on the waterfront in the old town. Really close to everything. Staff very warm and helpful. I wanted to stay longer. Highly recommended.

Good hotel. The shower was only hand held, which annoys me a little. A clip on the wall is not that hard. And the hotel didn’t do breakfast but there were plenty of cafes near by.

A birthday I’ll never forget
I visited Civitas last week and what an experience it was! Me and my partner were made to feel at such ease and the hospitality there was amazing. She surprised me with the help of Agapi and Peta. A special mention to Chrysaa, Agapi, Peta for arranging transport and always fulfilling our requests. A special also to George the waiter at Civitas restaurant who always made us feel welcome with his warm personality. PS: the Shisha there is one of the best I’ve ever had.

Disappointing stay for one week in Rethymno
Good point:sun terrace Less good points: room, standard with sea view, VERY cramped; no telephone; no hospitality tray (but supplied on request); no drawers for storage and hardly any usable space; late night noise from neighbouring cafes; no breakfasts served.

Honestly, we are truly sorry to hear we did not fully meet your expectations, as the second standard sea view room we offered you as an alternative proposal is considered to be rather spacious. All of your suggestions have been transferred to the Front Office Manager so no other guest would experience the same feelings. On a positive note, we are glad you did enjoy the sunny terrace of our hotel.

Fantastic
Our stay at Civitas was simply amazing. The location was perfect, seafront, lively but not noisy in our suite, and in the old town area of Rethymnon which is beautiful. The decor of hotel is very luxurious. Room was very spacious, with the bed being above living area, and includes all that you might need. If you need something extra, all you need to do is ask, and it will be provided right away. Room was cleaned and towels changed daily. All staff were so nice and friendly, especially Agapi, who was always ready to help and offer suggestions. Breakfast was good and available till 11.30am. We had dinner at the restaurant, and loved the greek specialities. Customer service at the restaurant is fantastic too, the staff were so friendly and attentive. Cleanliness throughout the hotel and restaurant were exemplary. All I can say is that we would definately love to stay at Civitas again, and will surely recommend it to others.

Lovely hotel with wonderful staff.
My partner and I stayed here in July 2017 for 10 days. We had a Balcony Delux Suite which was clean, comfortable amd unique it had a spa bath, which I didn't think I would really use but it was very relaxing. A useful shower head was attached too. Very comfy bed and pillows and a good hairdryer - if you need one. We also enjoyed the breakfast and alongside greek yoghurt and spinach and feta pastries, eggs can be cooked to order too. It's a short walk to well kept beaches and the hotel is in the old town so close to history and shops. Downsides: very thin walls and we were kept awake a couple of nights which isn't great on holiday. Lots of pigeon mess on the balcony every morning and although it was cleaned off later it was unusable for breakfast which was a shame. We mentioned it and the staff were aware. The problem could be sorted easily by placing a small strip of spikes above the window to stop them landing. I would have liked a warning the first night so I knew not to dry towels out there! The room had a little kitchen and you can ask for utensils if you need them. However, it seems as though you're expected to wash up yourself so bring washing up liquid and dish cloths if you go! Although it is a hotel it felt a bit like serviced apartments on that front. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and the staff are lovely and is generally quiet.

The staff was incredibly helpful. They even made sure we got a breakfast to go when we knew we would miss it because of an early flight out of town. Breakfast was delicious, and they were really accommodating of our 6 month old. Only downside is that if you choose a sea view room, you can hear bass from the nearby restaurants until about 1 or 2 AM. It's not too bad, but if you're sensitive... Luckily we had a sound machine to drown out some of it.

Pleasant place right near heart of the action
Had a room not facing outside so didn't hear craziness of outside. Really well located near the Venetian Port & a million restaurants. Staff was very nice. Wish beds were more comfortable and baths had shower curtains so you didn't need to be so careful showering. Great wifi btw. Overall pleasant experience.

the sunny side of the street
This was a delightful hotel with all the amenities we could have hoped for. The staff were genuinely friendly and full of fun The situation of the hotel for us could not have been better The breakfast were very good sitting in the sun in a pavement cafe watching the world go by set us up for the day. We will certainly return to this hotel.

It was on of my most pleasing experiences staying at Civitas Boutique.The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, the room spacious and clean and best of all is the location which is in the center of action of Rethymnon town.

Historic building reconverted in charming Hotel
Very friendly staff, great location on main promenade with restaurants, shopping and attractions. Nice simple breakfast on large outdoor terrace. My only comment would be buy few beach towels for clients, even if you charge a little extra for them! Otherwise a friendly small boutique hotel with excellent location and good service.

Perfect spot for views and exploring the town
Excellent, good value boutique hotel, great cretan breakfast and a lovely suite with lots of places to relax with sea views across the bay from the double storey window. There is a great sun terrace on the roof at the rear and the staff were super helpful.

Beautiful Venetian Escape Space
My husband and I stayed at Civitas Boutique Hotel for 5 nights and loved every second spent there! The staff at Civitas e-mailed us to inform us of some details a few days prior to our arrival in case we needed them. As we were trying to locate the hotel, one of the staffers came to us and helped usher us to the main office. Nikos at the main office checked us in and recommended absolutely delicious restaurants to us where the locals like to eat and hang out. The room we stayed in was breathtaking and large! It came with a jetted tub, kitchenette, living space, and a lofted bedroom for not a hefty price at all. We could not believe how large it was! The architecture in it is beautiful as well. My husband and I were just amazed by the room and we even had a nice waterfront view that we were not expecting. We were able to relax at the nearby beach or in the jetted tub, sleep in when we wanted to, and wander around all of Reythmno with ease. After we rented a car, we could park at the port nearby for cheap and not too long of a walk. Highly recommend this beautiful, well located hotel.

Spacious, tasteful and convenient.
Great location: beach front right within the hub of all the restaurants/shops/bars - which get very busy! Good vibe for young couples wanting a balance between nightlife and relaxation. Spacious, luxurious room with strong aircon and wifi. -The room did have a bit of an odd smell to it. -On our last day breakfast was really disappointing - arrived cold after waiting 40 minutes and after complaining about this we were brought a second, cold breakfast.

Der empfang war sehr freundlich und die Dame sehr hilfsbereit. Unser Zimmer/Studio war sehr schön und geräumig. Allerdings gehen die Fenster und der Balkon in die Innenseite des Hotels, d.h. ins Treppenhaus. Was bedeutet, dass es keine Frischluft gibt. Uns hat das für eine Nacht gestört, für einen längeren Aufenthalt wäre ist für uns nicht akzeptabel gewesen.
