The property was nice and centrally located to explore Oia. We had a nice time, could watch the sunset and the sun rise from the balconies. I would have appreciated a bit more communication and support with questions/logistics. We figured things out on our own in the end, but support would have been appreciated in the moment.

George is an amazing host and the Genesis Cave House has the best view over the Caldera day or night! We enjoyed many a mooonlit dinner overlooking the shimmering caldera water and beautiful cliff houses of Oia

Warning! pictures not accurate on all rooms
Warning! When we arrived at the property there was no hot tub even though it clearly shows one in the pictures of the villa we selected, I let the owner know who just said we can move to a different apartment which does have a hot tub so we agreed but this turned out to be 15m walk away and didn't have the caldera views, although the place was very nice we felt that the first day was wasted and stressful and that the pictures need to be more accurate for the correct rooms. I spent £200 a night to have to be moved around and it was so hot we needed the pool/hot tub to cool down.

Best View, Best Host!
The property has a breath taking view of the volcanic caldera and is situated in the heart of Oia city. The best part was George, the host at the property who helped us with our tourist plans and also helped with multiple other things, including airport transfers. The property is very clean and very accessible. Perfect recommendation for anyone’s Santorini visit.

It was beautiful and spacious! The property would have been perfect if it had had 2 bathrooms. Also, a few bottles of water or some nourishment would’ve been super helpful! Also a list of local places open on eat in the low season would’ve been EXTREMELY life saving! The cell phone provided was amazing! It was so helpful. Location was perfect! A summer stay would be amazing at this location but not necessarily in the winter time. Would stay again!

Wonderful sea views and great location in Oia. Manager George is very friendly and helpful. Views from the windows and two balconies were fantastic, looking at sunrise and sunset over the sea everyday! Bathroom is pretty modern and cool. Strongly recommended! Also this apartment has parking lot at back. it's very convenient. In Santorini, we saw several people carried heavy luggage to climb many steps before they can find their hotels (some hotels are not car accessible).

We had a lovely stay at Genesis Cave house. The views from the terrace are outstanding, probably the best on the island! The downside of this is that lots of people want their photo taken there, but it can be quite amusing watching all the posing! It’s perfectly placed for all the many shops and restaurants. We enjoyed visiting Amoudi Bay; walking up and down the 220 steps nearly finished us off so we got a taxi the next time (15€ each way) we’ll worth it to sit by the sea and eat some lovely seafood. You can catch a bus to the beaches on the island and this is easy and very cheap. Stavros was very helpful and booked taxis for us. He gave us a mobile phone so it was easy to contact him. I definitely recommend this as a great place to stay.

Great location
Wife and I decided to stay here for our honeymoon stay. It had a great view of the caldera and was close to a great sunset spot as well. I'd highly recommend this area for a stay, it has great value considering how much other spots cost around it. Two thumbs up!

Pros: the view is fantastic, the outside seating area is great, plus you feel like you really are in a cave house. Stravos was very helpful with everything regarding getting there and anything we needed. Loved having our own kitchen, cold AC, and the place cleaned every day. Cons: The communication prior to checkin was poor via online messaging, but calling worked perfectly. The bed was not the best. The shower was shorter than average- at 5' 7" I was a bit tall for it. Also would be nice if there was a set of beach towels.

We stayed in the 2 bedroom Villa and it was excellent. Can’t beat the location, right on the main drag, and it had TWO balconies- top balcony gives almost 360 degree views. This was amazing for sunset drinks and the view- BREATHTAKING!! The apartment was handy to a bakery and local supermarket as well which made buying provisions easy. Also, a huge thank you to Stavros who was there to meet us, explain the apartment, and he also helped us with our bags. Such a lovely guy- he just wanted us to have the best experience in Santorini and we certainly did. He also remained with us on the last day to make sure our departure transfer turned up. Stavros is such a kind and considerate man. The only minor negative was that the shower water pressure was not very strong at all. We imagine water is a precious commodity on the island so this may be why the water pressure is not so great. This was only a minor negative and would not stop us staying at Genesis Cave houses again as it’s such a beautiful villa. We have unforgettable memories of our wonderful stay on Santorini and we loved your villa/apartment. Thank you again Stavros and George.

The property is nice however the standard room was a bit too small even only for 2 people, but we can cook since there is a kitchen. The donkey stool was terrible when you walking around outside the property however overall for me is OK.

Liked the location and found bed to be comfortable. Staff was generally friendly. Did not like how small room was, bathroom was so tiny that I had to sit side saddle on the toilet seat, amenities were virtually non-existent, and they turned off electricity the last morning we were there.

Perfect location, excellent service
We couldn't ask for a better view and location. This place is amazing in every way. Short walk to the castle and sunset viewing points, restaurants and cafes and souvenir shops. The rooms were clean and amenities were more than adequate, especially we rarely spent time in the room except to shower and sleep. The owner George greeted us when we arrived to give us a personal tour of our cave house, explained where we were situated in reference to the other cities and landmarks on the island and answered our questions. He also helped arrange our rides from and to the airport and he was always accessible by phone. We highly recommend Genesis Cave Houses.

fantastic hotel with caldera view. George very generously upgraded us to the bigger jacuzzi room that can comfortably house a family of 4. location does take a little bit of walking down the stairs but the view is worth all that effort.

This property is just perfect for a couple's getaway. The view from the balcony is STUNNING. It is tucked off the main walkways, so it is quiet and private. Freedom and a co-worker met us near the post office and carried all our suitcases...such a kind thing. He was also instrumental in booking wonderful restaurant reservations, 4 wheelers and transport back to the airport. Was a smooth and easy check in and check out process.

We had an amazing stay here at the cave house. This location was unique but interesting and cool experience. Although it was hard to get to, we had an amazing amazing host - Lefteris. Not only he was hospitable in giving us the whole summary of the island, he was very dependable and helpful to get us what we needed in a timely manner. Overall, we love the stay, but most importantly I have to give him compliments for his hard work and being such an awesome host! He made the difference and is someone who is not entitled but worked hard for what he has been given.

Freedom was so helpful and friendly. He answered all our questions. We have a nice stay with a wonderful sea view right in front of the cave house. The sofa bed wasn’t so comfy to sleep and I suggest to change a better one. The location is easy to reach to anywhere at Oia.

Don't be fooled by the pictures
First off, it was difficult to get ahold of the owner, George. Get directions on how to get there and where to park. Talk about deception. When you look at the pictures of this ?hotel? the only thing that's accurate is the breathtaking view. But you could get that from any hotel in Santorini. This place was TINY. There was no place to unpack and hang your clothes. And there's no way you could use that toilet without turning sideways. Cramped. The pictures make it look like you were getting a multi-room apartment. One shows the terrace with a table and two chairs, no way you could squeeze two people on that deck. The kitchen had dishes and cups that wouldn't buy at Goodwill. Plus getting up and down all the steps to the Cave was taxing but the dog poop and trash on the path was disgusting and nobody ever cleaned it up! Final word of caution, don't look under the bed. It hasn't been vacuumed since 'Zorba the Greek' was born.

Good location
The location is good with private Carpark lot provided. The person (Freedom) checked us in had done an amazing job. Took his time to introduce us to the island, gave us a phone for easy communication, and answered our every questions. Every patience and nice guy. Unfortunately we experienced some setback like power tripped (the whole town), the balcony areas were invaded with hundreds of small bugs/insects which I believe it’s the seasons of it breeds and lastly, we took an hour plus to look for the accommodation, no signage, google map wasn’t updated and even asking the local, they don’t know anything about the location. Ended up, we have to call Freedom to look for us to direct us to the place. Nevertheless, I feel the entire stay was quite okay. Will stay here again if I return.

Perfect location! Close to all the shops and restaurants but quiet and safe. The house was very comfortable and stocked with everything we needed. Beds were comfortable and there was plenty of hot water for everyone. Before arriving I sent several emails to George (the owner I’m assuming) and he was more than helpful and never seemed annoyed at all my title questions. The best part was Fredom. Fredom seems to run everything, at least he did during our stay. Fredom was awesome!! Attentive, kind, helpful, I could go on and on. The hospitality during our stay was above and beyond! If I could think of anything negative or provide any kind of warning in writing my review, I would! I make decisions based on reviews so I understand the importance of writing an hostess review, but there is nothing bad I can say!

One of the best Hotels I've stayed in
Amazing view on the balcony! We were greeted with very friendly staff who helped us with luggage and we had private parking for our rental car too. Fresh flowers, fast Wi-Fi, quality towels, good mattress and very clean. Highly recommend!

Recommended cave house in Oia
I was stayed there from 31 Dec to 2 Jan. The host, George, was very nice and he pointed out the locations of every restaurants and stores remained open during the new year holiday. Rooms are clean and spacious and the sea view is fascinating.
