The staff at Captain's Choice are warm, helpful and welcoming. They helped me figure out my travel plans as they often change due to weather. It's also convenient because they offer rental cars as well. It's an older building, but my bed was very comfortable and I had a terrific view of the water and mountains. The continental breakfast is pretty basic with yogurt, cereal, fruit and frozen waffles/pancakes.

Overall it was good. We stayed one night. Room was clean and big for 2 people. Breakfast included and small selection of different breakfast items. Would recommend to stay.

Loved the view of the bay from our room and the beautiful flowers around the exterior of the hotel. Manager was very welcoming and devoted to the hotel. Breakfast was good!

Maybe Captains Choice, certainly was not mine
I was given a room on the lower part of the property, walls are paper thin and you can hear everything in the next rooms,, I had to hear a couple arguing, the guy in the next room snored all night and kept me up all night, the couple in the next room got back to their room at 2 am, above my room was a deck and heard people walking around most of the night I wouldn't stay; here again if I were there

I am so sorry you left unsatisfied the nights that the Colombia Ferry shows up at 1am with nearly 1,000 passengers is hard on everyone. We do apologize you did not enjoy your stay.

Nice people. Decent and satisfying breakfast. All in all pretty good, but a bit noisy in the morning, especially if you get a room sharing a wall with the lobby. And with many people traveling at all hours, they could be inconsiderate and be making noise just outside your room both late and early.

Great Haines hotel
Spent 2 night's here.... great little hotel in Haines. Walking distance to stopping and food. Staff friendly, even rented a car for our stay from the hotel. Beds super comfortable! (Best beds for a hotel I've been in and i travel alot) stayed in a 2 double on harbor side, lots of room, 2 fans, fridge and coffee pot. Window opens for nice breeze.... View amazing, room clean.... only down spot was tv had low signal and reception was bad, carpet needs cleaning and toilet was not super clean... will stay again....

Very much enjoyed meeting the helpful and friendly staff at check in and check out. The rooms are dated, but clean. The bed was quite comfortable. Was quite warm in the room, but with window open and provided fan, it was manageable. The complimentary breakfast was very basic - mostly bread and cereals. Enjoyed having our takeout supper on the deck overlooking the water - would be nice to have a few tables out there for guests to use on the deck. Parking was easy - right outside the room!

This was a great little property to stay at. We ended up with a great water view and the room was very fun. We preferred this to another place we stayed at last time we went through Haines. Word of caution everything closes early in Haines. Would definitely stay here again. Parking was a little tight but manageable.

As we arrived by fast ferry in the evening, finding the motel was a little difficult while we dragged our bags up the steep hills. And unfortunately, we also had to carry our bags down (and up when departing) a huge flight of stairs within the motel as our room was down below.

Great place to stay in Haines
The staff is amazing. The room is clean and exactly as it describes. The breakfast is also great with lots of varieties. We enjoyed our stay and will stay again if we return to Haines.

Great service, visit and location
The reception was awesome. Greg welcomed us with a very big smile and although there was some difficulty working through my reservation, he smiled all through and kept reassuring me all would be fine. The room was very neat and had all the amenities. We had a good sleep and enjoyed out tome at the hotel.
