This is not a Ryokan operated by the owners it's run by a kind staff who are going through a well planned routine but it does lack the personal.touch we would have loved. The pools are nice but they are next to the road so you can hear cars. One of the meals was just ok the other (shabu shabu) was outstanding. So a mixed experience but mid range appropriate at the price.

The property had beautiful onsen- hot spring water pools -and a nice indoor onsen. The staff was very sweet and helpful. The ryokan was authentic. We wore Japanese robes and slippers throughout our stay. The rooms had an eating area with a low table and cushioned chairs on a tatami floor, a reading area with two chairs by the window, a meditation space, and a full bedroom. The first night our family had a kaseiki, a lovely multi-course dinner, composed of all kinds of fish and wahgu steak.

The staff was very accommodating ! Check in was smooth the staff spoke a bit of English to help us through our stay. Dinner was phenomenal, breakfast the next morning was great as well. The Onsen Experience was great with the privacy and very relaxing.

We loved our night at the ryokan. The staff were friendly and attentive. We enjoyed dressing in a yukata for dinner and using the private onsen. Dinner and breakfast was amazing. Thank you 🙏

The room was clean, spacious and quiet at night. Room service meals were delivered to the room and sign-up for onsen times were easy to arrange. I used the in-door/out-door onsen each evening and morning
 instructions were clear - and being outside in the warm water under the shelter as the typhoon rains fell was very calming. I enjoyed the Japanese breakfast both mornings - beautifully presented without the polite service from staff - and ample self-service drinks (orange juice, apple juice and barley tea). The facility is a bit hidden - but figured it out. Check-in and check-out went smoothly.

We loved the place. It's well maintained, the japanese style room we stayed is beautiful and comfortable. Staff and kind and helpful. Very good communication since the moment we booked, clarifying our questions and helping with the booking of the onsens and dinner. We used 2 onsens (one outdoor in the evening and one indoor in the morning). They are amazing and relaxing. The food was also delicious both the Kaiseiki dinner and the japanese style breakfast.

This accommodation represented what my family, as US citizens, think of regarding a relaxing, traditional Japanese dining and lodging experience. There is much to praise about this property; the food, the room, the onsen, etc. We felt like special guests here as the hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The train ride up to the property was breath taking. This was a perfect one-night stay.

This was our first time staying in a Ryokan and it was fabulous. The staff were very helpful and we really enjoyed our stay. The staff reached out to us prior to our arrival to plan for dinner and private onsen that evening. The onsen's were very nice and the amenities were good. Dinner was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. Breakfast was also very good. The rooms were spacious a clean. They are also very family friendly and the location is convenient. I would recommend this place to people visiting Hakone for the first time. You won't be disappointed.

I stayed here with my sisters and we had the best time ever. Every meal was prepared with great care and details, and delicious. Outdoor spa in snow was fantastic. And more than anything their staff members were unforgettably friendly and kind. We want to visit again soon for sure.
