The Hotel Regina was clean, comfortable, beautiful, and charming with its old Heidelberg type of architecture, pretty furniture, cozy breakfast room, and flowers and other happy decorative touches. The hosts answered our questions and suggested a restaurant and places to visit. Breakfast was very much to our tastes -cold meats, cheeses, salmon, soft-boiled eggs, granolas, and cereal flakes, yogurt, fresh fruit salad, fresh fruits, breads and rolls, honey, jams. Pots of coffee and tea were also provided.

Staff very friendly & helpful! Breakfasts were fabulous. We stayed during a hot spell in the area; however, there was no air conditioning. We would suggest providing a fan.

The location was excellent, close to the old town. The front desk clerk showed us a nice walk on the other side of the Neckar river. The room was clean and bed very comfortable. The breakfast buffet had many options. By 8:30 the breakfast room was full so arrive on the early side.

Good location, close to Old Town, the river and plenty of eateries. Hotel has own parking lot and cost only 10€ per night which we appreciated a lot. When we arrived the lady at the front desk was very kind and actually came out and brought us to the parking lot as it was dark and the was no obvious signage. Hotel is very secure as it is always locked and only persons with key could enter. Our double room was very spacious and the bed very comfortable, only gripe was perhaps that the shower area is small and the shower curtain and shower head need to be replaced. Complimentary breakfast was decent, enough choices to fill the tummy, the room is however really small, only 5 tables, so I imagine sometimes you would need to wait. All personnel were polite and friendly and provided good service.

Elegant hotel with spacious room in centre of town
Stylish hotel in a nice part of town with friendly staff and a spacious room and bathroom. All clean and tidy. Breakfast was scrummy with a great variety and homemade treats. As a departing gift I was given plum jam with Lebkuchen spice mixture -very nice!

Christmas market holiday
Situated just outside the old city, very close to a center for trams. The hotel was very comfortable and we had a very large room, which although it was on the road (side street rather than main road) was quiet. Only negative - the breakfast room was small and during our stay other guests had to wait for a table. The breakfast was good and refreshed frequently. At the end of our stay were given a gift of two pots of Christmas jam, a lovely thought. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel and our visit to Heidelberg.

Good choice for Hotel in Heidelberg
The Regina was located a block away from the main old town shopping and restaurant scene. Buses and street cars were even closer. The neighborhood was safe and quiet and I liked the old style ambience of the hotel. Breakfast was good and the staff is multi lingual as are many of the guests. One review noted the lack of an elevator. This is true but did not cause any problem.

Not as good as it appeared online.
Some important things to know: Most rooms are upstairs and there are no elevators (very handicap unfriendly). Even the "downstairs" rooms require getting past the entryway stairs. The small, old rooms do not have air conditioning and have bad circulation so they are stuffy and very hot in the summer (opening the window out to the common square out back means reduced security or no sleep because of the bar next door). The internet is the worst I've experienced at any hotel. The WIFI signal was spotty in one room, worse in the breakfast room and non-existent in the first room I got. Huge key means you're carrying around a dumb-bell with you all day. No clock in rooms. Just one "soap" for body wash, shampoo and conditioner.

The hotel was just OK. The neighborhood was fine -- not too far from the old part of town. The wifi was extremely weak. No restaurants in the immediate vicinity. At 6 ft tall, I had to bend down to get my head under the shower. The owners weren't particularly welcoming. Like I said -- just ok. I would probably search out other options in Heidelberg.

Charming hotel in Heidelberg

Great location.
The hotel was 5 minutes walking distance from the old Heidelberg section where all of the shops and Christmas markets were set up. (I had the pleasure of being in town during the holiday season). The building itself wasn't the most modern, but it was very comfortable and the staff/owners were very nice and accommodating. I would definitely stay here the next time I go back to Heidelberg.

We stayed one night about a month ago. Everything was very nice, and the breakfast spread was excellent, too. FYI - I don't think there was an elevator, so you'll have to carry bags up the stairs.

Perfect quick stop
We stopped in Heidelberg for less than 24 hours during a road trip across Germany. Hotel Regina was perfect for our trip. It was clean and comfortable and a great location very near to the Old Town area. The complimentary breakfast was way better than expected, and we were able to do a speed tour of the Old Town and Philosopher's Way before leaving town. I would stay here again.

A great hotel
We stayed here for a couple of nights while passing through Heidelberg. The hotel is conveniently located in a quiet street less than 10 mins walk from the start of the old town. Breakfast and free WiFi are added perks. Parking is in a little car park, or on the street once the car park is full (both at a surcharge). The nearby Cappuccino cafe is a great place to have dinner if arriving late.

Hotel Regina was prefect for my quick trip to Heidelberg. It was in a great location (about a 20 minute walk from the train station and 25 minute walk to the tram going up to the castle). I felt very safe in the neighborhood it was located in. The room was small, but it had everything you would need for a short stay. The complimentary breakfast was so delicious! Cons: The bed was not very comfortable, especially the pillow. If you are traveling from a close distance, I would recommend bringing your own pillow. I would probably stay there again because it was a really great deal for the location (and breakfast), but would definitely bring my own pillow or perhaps see if the front desk has extra ones. Luckily, it was storming at night so my room didn't get too hot (like some people mentioned in their reviews).

This was a very nice little hotel near the main streets of the old section of Heidelberg. I walked liesurely from the main train station which took about 15 minutes. The rooms are decorated with charming B&B style furniture and the breakfast was very plentiful and home feeling. The neighborhood is safe and the side street was very quiet. For the price, I feel it was a great deal and I will be back next time I visit Heidelberg.
