Stayed here for one night. Check-in was incredibly easy as they had our keys ready when we got there. The room was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the views were incredible. Highly recommend staying here if you are passing through the area.

Great and Easy Place
I was sad we didn’t have more time here! The property was in a beautiful area with sheep fields around it. Everyone was very friendly, and it was super easy to get to right off the Ring Road. Cute, clean and just what we needed on our trip around Iceland!

What an incredible location to spend the night. The mountains in the background and the ocean out front. The cabin was very clean, the beds were comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was generous with gluten free options available upon request.

Pros:The property was easy to find and parking was right outside our door. As with many places we stayed, the room was very warm in October, so we slept wiht the window open. Cons: They DO NOT have a restaurant. Extra pillow in the room was dirty and stained with no cover. Breakfast was the most limited we had during our stay in Iceland.

This was my favorite place to stay during our travel around Iceland. The rooms were clean and surprisingly quiet. I loved the location, being able to look outside and see grazing sheep and beautiful landscape. I wish we had time to hike the trail behind the property. Highly recommend staying here!

Amazing location. Overall rooms were very nice. We had a group with 2 rooms. One room had a cracked window, the other had a saggy floor in the bathroom (was afraid we'd fall through!). Neither of those things ended up really effecting our stay though. So overall very good.

Good location
A good location for the glacier lagoons. Very friendly family run guesthouse with lovely views and nice walks. Superb evening meal which we booked in advance.

Guesthouse Skálafell was a wonderful place to stay! It was a bit remote but worked for us after visiting the glacier lagoon. The land around the guesthouse was absolutely beautiful and there were hiking trails close by. Staff was fantastic and very friendly. We would absolutely return.

For the price we paid we had very little room to put things down. Doors are falling off, no coffee pot or pan to boil water, shower has no place to put anything much less turn around. It was supposed to sleep six (we were just 2) but second room was locked. Breakfast was good.

Room was good and breakfast fine. Incredibly disappointed to be told no dinner restaurant even though this is indicated in the hotel information and we were relying on being able to eat dinner there. It necessitated a 98 KM round trip to get food as there were no cooking facilities.

Perfect place to stay in the south-eastern Iceland
We recommend this guesthouse for your stay in the south-eastern part of Iceland. It was for the second time we chose this guesthouse and once we come back to this part of Iceland, we will definitely choose it again. Our room was very nice, spacious and comfortable. It was perfectly clean and well prepared for our arrival. Location of the guesthouse is excellent, many interesting places in this part of Iceland are close and to be reached easily by car. Breakfast was good. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Great Location and Service
Great location to see the southern Iceland glaciers. Super friendly and helpful staff. They even made us a lunch to take with us since we were leaving for a tour earlier than their breakfast time. Dinner was amazing. Make sure to make reservations because they were totally booked.

We stayed at the Guesthouse Skalafell in March 2022. The Guesthouse is on a farm with the accommodations and dining in separate buildings. The rooms seemed new with a large bathroom with a walk in shower. Free Wi-Fi is available in the guest rooms. The Guesthouse is run by the farmer and wife and it seems like they enjoy the various visitors. We arrived in time for dinner and were very pleased with our home cooked fish dinner that included soup and dessert. Breakfast the next morning was a hot breakfast with homemade banana bread. You can hear the nearby waterfall when you walk from your room to the office\dining room. We experienced a very quiet visit with all of the comforts we needed and expected. We would recommend this Guesthouse and would stay here again.

Beautiful place to stay- you get to enjoy a view of the mountains and goats and even a small waterfall! The interior is nice, the one downside for us was there was not a kitchen but I don't think any guesthouses in the area do.

This was such a great place! Absolutely beautiful location and a wonderful room. We got to the farm pretty late and the gentleman was extraordinarily nice. He gave us some great recommendations for the next day and even let us feed his horses. This was a really great experience to start off our dream vacation!

Quite and surrounded by waterfalls and beautiful views. Great little cabins with a multi km trail on one of the sides of the property. Even though we were the only ones staying on that day, the staff made sure that we were well taken care if and provided us with an amazing breakfast spread. Overall one of the best and most relaxing places we have stayed through the trip. Great for a cozy night for 2 for sure.
