Hampton by Hilton Belfast City Centre

Hampton by Hilton Belfast City Centre

8/10 Good
"The first thing I want to commend the staff here. Fabulous service in everything we had to discuss/ request. I couldn't recommend the staff here enough. However the beds in this hotel...I can't comprehend how on earth anyone could think they are in any way shape or form acceptable in a hotel. Lumpy. Springy. The pillows felt like they were 50 years old lumpy with no shape. Thin. And no other choices. This isn't a difference between preferring a hard bed or soft. It's quite literally the WORST bed I've ever slept on. The staff offered to move us but the beds were no different. Eventually we ended up with 3 mattress pads and 2 extra duvets to try to make it acceptable. I very un comfortably got through the next 3 nights with very little sleep. Unfortunately I wouldn't stay there again because of this and it's a shame because besides that the hotel was wonderful. Good food. Excellent and helpful staff. Clean. Location. Please please please consider an upgrade on your bedding. Then maybe we'd come back on our next stay. It really is a pity."

"I stayed here for one night and all I needed was a good shower and bed. This place was more than adequate for my needs, The room was clean and the bed was comfy and I slept well before moving on. The biggest draw was it being located in the city center close to the Bus station. I didn't have to walk too far to get there. The staff were also helpful when checking me in and were nice. I'd stay again."

Culloden Estate & Spa

Culloden Estate & Spa

8/10 Good
"We stayed in a suite which overlooked the water and it was incredible. Beautiful spot, couldn't beat the view. Gym was brilliant, really high quality for a hotel gym, lots of equipment so a proper workout could be done. The spa is also brilliant, clean and well managed with free towels and robes if required. Staff were lovely, building itself was beautiful, food at The Cultra Inn was lovely too. The only BIG let-down is the breakfast. I would firstly assume if spending £470 per night, breakfast would be included. Regardless, for a 5 star hotel I was expecting something with a bit of a WOW factor. Lots of options, maybe an additional set menu offering. Unfortunately the breakfast on show is pretty much identical to what you'd find in a Premier Inn. A very basic hot section and then some fruit and cereal. 2 types of pretty sad cheese and 2 types of cold meats. Absolutely nothing wrong with it, good quality food and more than enough to fill you for the day, but for a 5 star hotel that likes to see itself as being 'premium', the breakfast is a big let down. All in all really great stay though, and the spa is the winner here."
