"Hotel was in good location in Hilo. From other reviews, they state this is the nicest hotel in Hilo. I would agree with that assessment, though the property could use a refresher. The area this hotel is located in is a bit rundown, homeless in the area. The hotel next door is shuttered which gave the area an abandoned feel. But I am not sure if there are any better areas in Hilo since it is a smaller town/city. Some food options in walking distance but I would recommend driving into town for better spots. The rooms were as expected, clean and kept up. The front staff were very friendly and accommodating, you’ll even see local cats strolling in and out of the property and lobby. We could possibly stay here again if visiting Hilo. It is about a 40 minute drive to Volcanoes National Park which is the reason for our visit to the East side of the big island. Do note, if you plan to self park, the lot is located across the street at the golf driving range. If you plan to arrive late in the evening, I would pay to valet since the surrounding area is a little questionable. The lighting in the dirt lot is poor. "
"The ocean was visible from both our rooms. We did not cook, just made tea; but the kitchen appeared to be well equipped and we saw other guests cooking.
The bathroom was clean and had several showers, so we never had to wait
The hostel is very conveniently located in downtown Hilo."

8/10 Good
"Clean room, comfortable beds. Our only complaint was that we wanted to extend our stay by another night and the front desk could not do it without waiting for the reservation staff to arrive which wasn't to happen until 10am. Essentially we had to pack up, check out and be checked back in later. Needless to say we did not stay. "
"We were greeted by the owner who toted our luggage in then gave us a brief tour and some helpful touring suggestions. Our room was clean and comfortable with very good beds. The large balcony area adjacent to our room was lovely. Breakfast was prompt and very tasty. Overall a very nice experience. "
"Loved it here! Would have stayed longer but they were booked up. Great location. Short BEAUTIFUL walk to the beach/park. The woman at the front desk was so nice and helpful! A+"
