"The hotel is situated at the end of a road and is in a very quiet location. We parked at the bottom of a hill and had to hike up to the hotel with our bags (good for your fitness!). You could drive up closer to the entrance if needed.
We had been sent an email with a code to get our key out of a lockbox at the entrance, but completely forgot about this when we arrived. Tobias greeted us and gave us our key. He also explained about the drinks and food area. Drinks are taken based on an honesty...
"Not especially pleased to discover we had chosen their "Ruhetag" to stay here - no food or other service this day.
Luckily the lady there could recommend another place to eat that night.
They are, however, still willing to accept full prices for overnights."
"We arrived after a long day at Phantasialand, the castle was beautiful, easy to find and the check in was automated and very straight forward.

"Convenient to get to Merode. Unfortunately we stayed the night there was a large group also staying and there was a lot of noise. We were also mostly unable to use the kitchen because the group that was staying kind of took it over. Parking and access was a bit tricky, as another guest had parked in two spots, so we had to find a place a few blocks away. The keypad for the door was a bit sensitive. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable."
"I arrived on a Monday but was disappointed to learn the restaurant was shut. Had to drive back into Düren for food. Germany doesn't seem to like Mondays! Hotel is good, if not slightly tired, but very clean and I slept well. My Monday evening disappointment was short lived following a very welcoming and wonderful breakfast. Very nice staff."

"Comfortable hotel, spacious rooms with kitchenette (fridge, microwave kettle, sink, some dishes etc. Quiet (at least when not fully hooked), decent breakfast available. Parking available, town centre is in (longer) walking distance."
