"We spent 3 nights at Glorietta Bay Inn to celebrate our 37th wedding anniversary. This was new for us, since we've traditionally stayed at the Hotel Del Coronado when coming to town, but unfortunately their post-renovation pricing has just gone out of what is reasonable for us. We stayed for less than half of that, and were right across the street from the Del so getting there was still something we enjoyed every day we were there. The staff at the Glorietta were very friendly, and the only thing we took down a notch from perfection was comfort because the bathroom was a little on the tight side, size-wise - only one sink, and the toilet/shower room resembled those on cruise ships - but that was the only thing that stopped us from giving that one 5 stars too. We will definitely be back."
"First of all, what is there not to like? This literally was a five minute walk to the beach and the hotel Del Coronado. We had all the restaurants and conveniences as if we were staying at the hotel Del Coronado, but at a fraction of the cost. Love the happy hour and complementary hot served breakfast. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. "
"My daughter and Granddaughter spent a night here before our flight home. It was absolutely the perfect place for us. We walked to the beach the first evening, it took us maybe 8 minutes and the walk is beautiful.
They had snacks and the perfect breakfast assortment that got us on our way the next morning.
It was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the house was so cute. The employees as well as the other guests were so kind and welcoming.

"4.5 stars. The 0.5 star deduction is due to one particular front desk personnel's rude behavior upon checking out on 8/17/25 morning. She was slurping a starbuck ice coffee intermittently while talking and then set the drink right in front of me when she had to type. She scowled at my daughter and me from time to time and gave short answers in an annoyed tone to everything I said. At first I thought I was just being oversensitive, but after we left the hotel my daughter also mentioned that the front desk rep seemed rude. I forgot to check her name tag since I was shocked by her behavior. I also told this front desk staff that free breakfast was included in both of my room rates. But later that morning I received an invoice from Hyatt, which includes $160 breakfast fee. I had to call Hyatt back to get that breakfast fee off my bill.
All the other Hyatt staff I met during my San Diego trip were very courteous, especially Lauren (of the front desk) when I checked in. She was very considerate and offered to put both rooms on the same floor level. She also reminded me to let the restaurant hostess know that free breakfast was included in both room rates to avoid unnecessary extra charges. She gave a very detailed description of the hotel's amenities and clear instructions on how to get to our rooms.
