Market Street Hotel is a definite go-to if I visit Edinburgh again. It's clean and modern. I was first assigned a bigger room (Roomy) but it had a small window that looked out onto another building with no view of the sky at all. The front desk readily acceded to my request to change to a slightly smaller room that faced Waverley Station and Princes Street. We really loved our stay at The Rutland. We had a 2 bed-room apartment in the basement with kitchen facilities. The place was very spacious & clean. As the location is excellent, with many places to eat around it, we didn’t use the cooking facilities at all. The staff were also extremely helpful with our luggage - there are no lifts in the apartment so we had to lug everything down a flight of stairs but we had help from the staff who were all very strong ladies.
