Magical Da Maria!
Our stay at the hotel was wonderful. All the staff were welcoming and very friendly and went out of their way to help us and make our stay enjoyable. Alessandra in Reception was especially helpful and the other receptionist stayed much later than usual, as we were very late arriving. The hotel arranged trips by water taxi and transfers to and from the ferry, making for stress free travel. Food and service in the Ristorante Da Maria was very good, we loved the beach, breakfast on the terrace and wonderful views. Our room was spotless and we were offered use of hotel facilities the day we checked out, which allowed us more time in the pool and on the beach, before we checked out. A perfect break - just wish we could have stayed longer!

Incredible stay!!
Our stay was absolutely incredible. We felt so at home throughout the entire stay. Gianni and Alessandra were so accommodating and couldn’t do enough for us during our time!! Would highly recommend staying here any time I’d come to ischia. I would also now choose to stay in ischia because of this hotel over any of the other islands in amalfi coast!

Stayed here for a spell of hot weather this past summer, and liked it enough that I'm planning to go back next summer. Room was very clean and comfortable, staff were helpful and courteous, and the beach was lovely. Regarding the beach, in particular I was happy with how relatively private it was, as well as how well marked off the boat lane was. I've stayed in other places where the swimming area's cheek by jowl with the boat area but the separation wasn't well-marked, so I am glad it was so well-marked here. The only downsides were that the bathroom, curiously, wasn't air conditioned, and the breakfast, which was fairly scant. In fact, everything else was so good I felt let-down by the breakfast; ended up eating a lot of toast in order to fill myself up, and on the third day I just flat-out bought bread in the nearby town so I'd have something more filling to eat in the morning. Otherwise, I was entirely happy with my stay.

Hotel Da Maria is beautifully located with its own private beach and restaurant. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are well specified with an excellent shower and air con. Cleaning staff do a great job maintaining the rooms and hotel. Clean towels are provided everyday. Their is a small swimming pool with loungers, a large patio area with tables,chairs and sun loungers or residents can walk down a flight of steps to the beach. For some the steps may be the deal breaker. For anyone with difficulty walking or climbing they might be a challenge as the property is a tiered structure built on the hillside. Also travel to and from the local town of Ischia Ponte is by small boat or water taxi as it is referred to. It is a well organised and efficient service and i found it a charming and enjoyable experience but again those afraid of water or unsteady on their feet it may prove another deal breaker Food is excellent in the restaurant.....would i recommend, yes would i return, again yes

Lovely hotel, overlooking the bay.
Da Maria is a lovely hotel, set right on the sea. Accessible by water taxi (or a slog over the hill) and with lovely views over the bay and the Aragona Castle. Room was a sea-view double aspect, with a balcony; shutters and insect screen on the french doors. Breakfast was usual - bread, jams, cereals, yoghurts, cheese/hams, juices and coffee. Restaurant was ok, food generic Italian, wine cheap but local and good. Prices seem to alter according to who served you!

Very friendly hotel with an amazing view
We attended for a week and had an amazing time. The hotel was spotlessly clean, staff were very attentive and friendly.. even though not everyone spoke English and we did not speak much Italian, it was not an issue, we got by and it worked well. Food in the restaurant was delicious and would recommend. The beach was busy but that was only to be expected for the location. Yes there are stairs but that adds to the charm of the location. Loved this place

A taste of real Italian living in Ischia
We had a very enjoyable stay in Albergo da Maria. Loved the location on the beach and hearing the waves lapping at night. The hotel restaurant served delicious home cooked meals and it was easy to take the water taxi to Ischia Ponte for a good variety of cafes and restaurants. Service at the hotel was excellent. The only drawbacks to a comfortable stay were the lack of air-conditioning and the toilet being in the shower enclosure. Regardless of this we would love to return.

Lovely hotel in great location
We spent two weeks here and have no complaints at all. The staff were lovely, especially Dorata at breakfast who catered for my need for high fibre food, and Onofrio on reception. The room was lovely and clean with air conditioning and we had a large private courtyard with views of Vesuvius. However, be warned if you are not good with lots of steps this is not the place for you. We actually saw this as a good way to keep up our fitness levels and an excuse to treat ourselves to lots of the lovely gelato available everywhere on the island!

Fantastic Spot on the Beach
Arrived by Boat Taxi to Da Maria to find every single member of staff friendly and accommodating. The Italian passion for life shone through, even if it was a bit animated at times. Recommend to anyone looking for a chillout break.

Utter peace.
Our motivation for this trip was to get away from city life, switch off and relax. I choose this hotel due to picturesque location, remote but yet accessible. 1 hour from Naples on ferry for approx £10 each, a bus for 10 mins at €2 and then water taxi (motorised boat) for €5 gets you here. Its absolutely beautiful. Apart from crashing waves below ( which I find therapeutic) at the top of the hotel you literaly can't hear a sound. Food was good- we ate an evening meal here and breakfast was included. Staff could not have been friendlier and pool, surrounding gardens are immaculate. If you want a party, go elsewhere. If you want sheer relaxation and to find yourself....come here. You can get taxi boat over and back daily for €4 per person to main port. Tip- Buy some beers when you arrive in port from supermarket for your fridge so you can sit on terrace and sip without facing 100 steep steps down to beach bar everytime you want a drink !

Nice hotel in stunning location
You arrive on a water taxi which takes you around the harbour past the Castle de Aragione, alternatively you can get a bus and take a walk, about 800 metres and down some quite steep steps so if the weather is dry & calm arriving on the water is perfect. Never done that before. The staff are very helpful. Food is excellent. Location also excellent with beautiful views out to sea from pretty much every room. The terraced areas and pool are tranquil and lovely places to spend time relaxing and reading; drinks are available all day from the bar in the restaurant (which is open for lunch & dinner.) There is a separate breakfast room. Again, beautiful views out to sea from every window in the restaurant. The wifi is only available in the reception/lobby area and breakfast room. It doesn't seem to work in the bedrooms or the terraced areas. This could easily be rectified. TV in room only has 1 English channel which is the 24 hour BBC news but we found this enough as weather was good and didn't spend too much time in the room. Bathrooms are the biggest drawback and need to be sorted out. The shower area has a curtain to pull across but also has the WC in same area. All very small but with a little re-arrangement you could separate the shower area from the WC and reduce the size of the wash hand basin to make room. Having said that it didn't reduce my enjoyment but a better bathroom would have been more appealing. They are all the same as we were shown another room.

Great location, perfect hotel.
Had a really lovely stay at Da Maria, we arrived via taxi and walked down the stairs (you can't get taken directly to the door) and enjoyed it from the start. The beach was great, the pool was always quiet and calm. Room was clean and cool, we were worried we'd be hot at night but was fine. Staff were very friendly. We chose to walk to Ischia Ponte (about a 25 minute walk) but they also provide a water taxi for about 4 euros i think. The restaurant was lovely, we enjoyed the peaches in wine and the seafood was delicious. Would recommend staying here, lovely hotel, great island with beautiful views.

The family and staff are lovely The let down is that the rooms do not even have fans or a fridge! I was aware of no a/c but not to have the above led to a very uncomfortable stay and these items are little to ask in a beach hotel in a hot climate. In addition , there is a daily charge for the water taxi which really should be absorbed by the hotel and provided as a free shuttle as with many hotels I`ve stayed in as a courtesy to the guests as the hotel is quite remotely located which is after all part of it`s charm.

The staff remembered I liked a cafe latte and every morning at breakfast they brought it to me without my ever having to order it. Its a great location with a view onto Castel Aragones. I loved arriving to the hotel in the little speedboat ! Most of all a beautiful family as owner operators. Great food too and not too expensive. Tucked away from the riff raff. A work colleague had recommended it and I thanked him profusely upon my return. Great place for families too.

The staff and service at Da Maria get 5 stars. They are so friendly and welcoming, it's apparent that it is a family-run hotel. They stayed in touch via email before our stay to make sure we had smooth arrival, and they let us store our luggage and hang out by the pool until we could check in to our next hotel. The restaurant has very friendly service and delicious homey food. The hotel does have a private beach AND a pool, but the whole property is no frills. Just basic, clean, and very gracious.

Lovely beach with thermal Pools and clay stones for making masks. Hotel and surroundings really beautiful. Family run, friendly staff, restaurant serves great food with amazing views. Taxi boat service unique, yet amazingly efficient. Don't go their expecting a party though as it's definitely a chilled out place.

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Da Maria staff very freindly couldn't do enough for ya..Fabulous view of castles taxi boat was great...Enjoyed our days relaxing by the pool or down at the beach so peaceful and relaxing.. Done a few days trips over all a brilliant Holiday.. Would definitely stay in Hotel Da Maria ischia again :-)

Il luogo dove è situato l’albergo è molto bello e panoramico ma solo questo è l’unico pregio.È un albergo con 4stelle ma nn ne merita nemmeno 3 .la stanza è piccola e gli arredi risalgono agli anni 70 , tutto l’albergo avrebbe bisogno di una totale ristrutturazione .E nn ne parliamo del bagno senza bidet e con il water nel box doccia, orribile.Non so cosa ha spinto i precedenti ospiti a rilasciare una recensione positiva.Appena sono arrivata e ho visto le condizioni della stanza ho chiesto alla reception di avere un’altra stanza anche con una differenza di costo.Mi è stato risposto che mi avrebbero accontentato.Non ho saputo più nulla se non il giorno dopo quando ho chiesto notizie nel merito e mi è stato risposto che non erano riusciti a contattarmi , ma avrebbero potuto, se avessero voluto, perché il primo giorno sono stata in albergo.Riguardo alla colazione continentale ,non ho mai trovato ,in nessun albergo dove ho soggiornato, il tavolo che mi era stato assegnato,già pronto e cioè’ piatti preparati e coperti con la pellicola con cornetti ,frutta ,marmellate e etc Questa cosa è sicuramente da evitare in un albergo con 4 stelle.Riguardo la piscina con acqua termale consiglio di eliminarla Mi dispiace rilasciare questa recensione negativa,ma non sanno cosa significa fare turismo.Sono stata in tanti posti e in tanti paesi ma nn mi sono mai trovata in questa situazione.Ischia è un posto meraviglioso è incantevole ma se le strutture alberghiere sono così è da evitare.

Gentile cliente, è con grande rammarico che prendiamo atto della Sua recensione. Siamo sinceramente spiacenti del fatto che il soggiorno non sia stato all'altezza delle Sue aspettative, tuttavia, la camera da Lei scelta e prenotata, per la quale ha potuto avere possibilità di vedere le foto sul portale, è volutamente di tipo old style ed ha una vista impareggiabile. Infatti, oltre alla suddetta tipologia di camere ve ne sono altre prenotabili e disponibili sul portale. Ulteriormente, considerate le Sue necessità abbiamo anche proposto il cambio di camera effettuabile il giorno successivo al Suo arrivo, non avendone la disponibilità in precedenza, ma tale possibilità è stata rifiutata. Riguardo la colazione, considerato lo stato di emergenza sanitaria mondiale, avendo a cuore la salute ed il benessere dei nostri ospiti la stessa è predisposta in maniera tale da seguire gli standard imposti dalle normative vigenti che vietano le colazioni a buffet. Da qui la necessità di impacchettare e di preparare i tavoli. La piscina è quotidianamente sistemata ed offre un ulteriore servizio, atteso che nel soggiorno è incluso la spiaggia privata. Ciò detto, ribadiamo il nostro rammarico per la Sua esperienza negativa considerata la passione, la dedizione con cui svolgiamo il nostro lavoro da oltre 100 anni, essendo, ormai la 4 generazione impegnata nell'ospitalità alberghiera ma soprattutto nel far emergere le bellezze della nostra isola ed in particolare della Baia di Cartaromana.

Corner of paradise with excellent kitchen.
We loved our stay in this ! It’s a true little paradise. Very cosy, clean and calm. Very friendly staff and family atmosphere. Total silence in the night. Nice beach with excellent restaurant, really delicious and not expensive. The best way to reach the town - 5 min of taxi-boat - real fun!
