Stayed for 3 nights, clean hotel, good amenities and housekeeping. The day of check in, reception staff wasn't very friendly but later shift staff was lovely. Hotel room was smaller than expected, window view was a white wall. Location was good for shopping and food, however quite far from main tourist attractions. Breakfast was very disappointing, mostly full of salads and hardly any hot food.

I booked Freya hotel 2 months in advance for 6 nights and specifically asked for a twin room. I received a very small double room, and fridge didnt work Only thing they could do was divide the bed into two for first 3 nights. I was moved to a twin larger room 3 days later, which is what I originally wanted. As a expedia VIP member i requested an upgrade but the gentleman in the am was not friendly and very indifferent. However the person present during checkin "Mehmet" was a sweetheart. He went out of his way to improve our stay. The location of the hotel is convenient and the rooms are cleaned well every day.

Changes needed

The hotel itself is full of all the finishes you would expect in a 4 star hotel. The bathroom has a large shower, the room has a TV behind a mirror, the balcony was a decent size and the pool and fitness room were perfect at the end of each day. Unfortunately, some of the staff were not helpful. For example the air conditioning is controlled centrally and when we asked for this to be changed when we arrived we were told we had to wait until the next day. In the spa area the woman seemed to blast out her choice of music whilst she was on her phone and it was hardly the type of music that was relaxing. Towels appeared sporadically. The breakfast was extensive but some of the food was rancid due to it being put out beyond its shelf-life. Perhaps we could have picked the area of Istanbul a little better. It’s perfect for the metro as it’s 2 min away but the area itself I personally wouldn’t wander too far in after dark. If some of the staff change their attitude, and you’re in Instanbul for a couple of days to sightsee, then this would be a reasonable hotel at a very reasonable price.

People are kind but they did not speak english a lot...I did not have gluten free bread the two first day (and the bread werw not good, heat in microwave). our room was in the front side o the street near a bar even if i had asked before a quiet room (a lot of rooms were available). New installations but matresses was not a 4 star level.

We did not like the location of the property, the street was so noisy, uneven and damaged. The balcony view was horrible, you could see only old dirty roof tops from the balcony. Left over food items from the previous day were served in the breakfast. All door handles were very flimsy and would come off easily. One thing which we liked about the hotel was its staff, every staff member was very kind and helpful.

Hôtel très propre, personnel très gentil, à l’écoute et très disponible, le ménage est fait tous les jours, la literie très confortable, douche très correcte, le petit déjeuner très varié. Franchement rien à dire. La piscine est très propre et la température de l’eau est agréable. Bien situé, le tram arrêt Aksaray est à quelques pas de l’hôtel Je reviendrai dans cet hôtel.

Nous avons demandé un taxi. Le chauffeur nous a dit qu’il avait été payé alors que le réceptionniste (homme de petite taille, chauve) nous a demandé de payer € 30 !!!!! C’est inadmissible…! Quand j’ai demandé au chauffeur ce qu’il lui avait dit, le réceptionniste lui a (d’après le chauffeur) demandé de se taire et dire que c’est €30 la course, même s’il avait été payé avant 😡😡😡😡
