Good friendly staff and very welcoming
Great atmosphere, easily accessible by public transport. Great hotel. The area is not in the old town and a bit further away from city but really great and relaxing hotel with good facilities.

The housekeeping was very clean and kind. However there was always a sewage smell every morning that they had to fix chemically. The AC in the room wasnt working and every complain i asked for it to be fixed they would say “we will do it systematically, no problem” and nothing of course. Until i made a complain to the rooms division manager and he was kind enough to offer me a suite as a room change. However it was all a lie since when i collected my things and called reception their response was “call us in 2 or 3 hours and will see if there is a room available to switch” which is very rude since its their issue to fix and the manager shouldnt offer something that he cant do. After 3 hours i had to complain to the duty manager since nothing happened and he was the rudest person i have seen working and as a “manager” not even small staff. Worst experience ever in my 50 5* hotels i have visited.

Affordable luxury
The room I had was about as spacious and comfortable as you could wish for -- all modern conveniences, quiet, and clean. Downstairs, I used the sauna and the gym. Both were clean; the gym was well equipped, and the locker room was convenient and safe for valuables. For the money, this was a really good deal. I cannot speak for the other amenities -- steam room, massage, pool -- because I did not have a chance to use them. Same for the restaurant, since I wanted to explore the neighborhood. The drawback of the hotel is the dreary location. You are well away from anything touristy here. However, there are good restaurants just a couple of blocks away for traditional Turkish specialties, all very tasty and inexpensive.

When arrived at the hotel the room we booked wasn’t available and had to stay in two separate rooms from our children. Housekeepers didn’t even replace toilet paper that finished on the day and towels had stains on them

Rude service, when I checked in the asked for a 500TL deposit payment or 50Euro for the minibar, I said I didn't have cash and offered to pay by card, they said they didn't take card. When I got to my room I get a knock on the door and some ody comes in and empties the minibar area. The spa area most of the facilities were not working

This was my 5th stay at the golden tulip in ISTANBUL bayrampasa the rooms are spacious clean great room service there’s a pool sauna steam room massage room gym loads of floors loads of choices and it’s well connected my only change from my other stays this time was I used the massage facility’s for the first time I had 2x medical massage and 1x hamam Turkish massage and it is male on male female on female and the lad that did my massage his name was Barish he was absolutely phenomenal at his job the best massage I’ve had in my life he was knowledgeable and great conversationally and it was the most relaxing massage I’ve had in my entire life he is one of a kind the pools and rooms are clean the showers great the restaurant it great and I’m aiming for my 6th stays October 2022 I highly recommend everyone stays here in ISTANBUL the staff are helpful they will direct you to the 3 nearby metro stops / tram stops too see you soon guys !!

Most important is that the property is poorly managed. the rooms are very cold and you don't get additional blankets even if you ask for them. I had to call my booking agent to negotiate 1 more blanket in the room. Personnel was very rude and unfriendly. Even the cold milk you for your coffee, you have to beg the Chef to get some. You have to speak Turkish in order to get the service otherwise you're just ignored.
