We had a great experience. The Manager Mr. Sabri was very hospitable and helpful. The rooms were clean. Nice breakfast. Conveniently located. All the major attractions were 5-10 mins away. Great experience. Would definitely recommend this.

The people that works at this hotel are friendly and hospitable. We felt welcome from the minute we arrived. The location was convenient and within 7-15 minutes walk from the tourist sites in Sultanahmet. Tram 1 is within 2-3 minutes walk from the hotel. Also, the ferry to Kadakoy is within 15 minutes walk. Lots of dining options around (eat somewhere away from the main road (Alemdar Cd) for better pricing). The dining at the hotel next door can be noisy at night so bring some ear plugs.

Arrived at the hotel and they had lost our reservation. No rooms were available there in the area near The Hagia Sophia. Our tour guide saved us by getting the hotel ?owner to book another 1/2 hr away. Paid for a taxi, but took over 2 hrs to relocate in a rather seedy area of Istanbul. Obviously don’t stay at this horribly untrustworthy hotel.

Location, location, location... Can't beat it. Walk to Hagia Sofia, Sultanahmet Mosque, Topkapi, Cistern, Grand Bazaar, shopping restaurant, you name it.... You just need to go out and walk few steps. With this you don't need a car, for anything. Walk to tram and go anywhere far as well. What makes it even better? Amazing staff and service. So polite, always taking care of your needs. We had an excellent room, with unmatched view of Hagia Sofia, but it was not suitable for my big family. They moves us so smoothly, all (a lot of) our luggage, as we focused on exploring area. Always asking us for things we may need. Always offering complimentary drinks, always smiling. Great great people.

We stayed at Modern Sultan Hotel for a week in July 2023 and loved it. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Turkish Breakfast in morning is amazing. Hotel is extremely close to most attractions in Sultanahmet (10 minutes walk) and public transportation is also close by. Only down is that the hotel does not have elevators but the staff was very helpful in getting our luggage to our room. Our room was on the top floor with a great view of the Hagia Sophia mosque. We would definitely come back to this hotel on our next trip to Istanbul.

The room was very good. The mattresses were comfortable, not too soft (not too firm, too). The pillows were comfortable as well. Our room had its own AC and we could control it. The AC worked perfectly and quietly. For breakfast, they had different kinds of pastry, fruits, vegetables, olives, eggs, hams, and cheeses. (I don’t mean this is the full list. There might be something else that I didn’t notice or don’t remember). There were instant coffee and tea bags, black and chamomile. The owner and staff were very friendly and reliable. The communication was easy. Before we arrived, they responded to my emails quickly and thoroughly. We appreciated it that they helped us organize transportation to the airport for a reasonable price. I would stay here again.

Good breakfast. Tv stations doesn't work. Walking distance to most landmarks and tourist spots. Very helpful staff. Only bad thing I can say is that some guest were smoking in their rooms.

We liked the Modern Sultan. It has an excellent location, right off the tram street, yet far enough away to be quiet. The manager is a friendly man and very helpful. The room is small, but adequate. A small refrigerator and a safe. There is no elevator and we were on the third floor, so be aware of that. It was not a problem for us. They had a very good breakfast, and one could sit on the front porch as well as the dining room For a mid range hotel The Modern Sultan was nothing fancy, but certainly a pleasant stay.

I am so grateful that I found this property! The staff are amazing, always willing to answer any questions, and are just so friendly! The breakfast was good and the location perfect! I walked to all the Old Istanbul highlights and my room had a view of the Hagia Sophia. Also, if your in the mood for a late night cocktail, there's a place right next door. Super nice, family-run business. I felt safe and comfortable in my single room as a woman traveling alone, and the breakfast was AMAZING, best part of the stay. Easy to walk to lots of attractions from here.

The hotel is well situated, a little off to the side of the main street but not too hard to find. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and courteous all through my stay. Breakfast was very good; it was obvious that an effort was made to vary the items as best they could. Overall it can be seen that thought is put into making this hotel a comfortable and pleasant place to stay. The only problem I had was the stairs, quite difficult to climb each day. So if you have challenges with stairs you might not be able to stay here. Check first if you can get a room on the first floor.

I proper enjoyed my stay in modern sultan Hotel. It was my first time in Istanbul and I was travelling alone. The staff there didn't leave me to feel lonely. Every evening we were spending time outside as friends, with them playing music, smoking altogether shisha. It was just something magnificent. I will never forget what Istanbul was for me. The location of the hotel is good as u get restaurants, mosques next to you. And also tramvays station are really close. Visiting Istanbul is a must. Visiting this hotel will make it cheaper and more affordable
