"VFI is very close to Volcano National Park and it was the main reason why we chose to stay here. The house is nestled in the rainforest with a short drive from the main road so its very quiet. Our room is spacious with many windows facing the rainforest and a big patio. Our room is comfortable and pleasant. We stayed 4 nights and enjoyed it very much. The host, Jon, is also a very nice guy and approachable. Breakfast is a grab and go and has plenty of fresh fruits which is a bonus! "

#NationalPark My wife standing near a large lava flow. Check out the lava above and beneath her. You have to respect lava if you venture into the active areas. If you slip and fall the consequences are bad. Lava reaches temperatures of 2200 degrees which will vaporize wood. It almost feels like tapioca when you put a stick in it.
