"Definitely beyond our expectations. It was very good. Even though we just needed a place to sleep for a night and transit to Penang, this hotel amazed us in many ways, very spacious. Staff very friendly."

"The iconic Syuen Hotel of Ipoh is now AC Hotel. Managed by Marriott and owned by YTL, the hotel has been tastefully refurbished and the hotel retains it charms and plus points of having the hotel located so near the heart of Ipoh. "

"It was such a uniquely designed hotel and even though it is not in town, it doesn't take to long to order a grab ride to go out and in. The only thing that could be improved on is if the shared kitchen area was better equipped with soap, paper towels, and dishes to use."

"The room was very clean and had been recently painted - this was obvious due to the paint splashes on the floor and net curtains. It is also single glazing so even on the 11th floor outside noises can be heard. There is also no international power points or USB ports in the room but the staff were very helpful in getting an adapter for the room. The location is in a residential area so grab / taxi is needed to get to Ipoh’s points of interest. "

"First room we were given the beds were unmade and there was still trash in the garbage bin. The bathroom had cockroaches in it and it wasn't given a clean vibe at all. We were then given a different room. However this room was having mold on the walls, as well as a smell of mold. We then left the hotel cancelling our stay, and the manager said if wishing for a refund go through Expedia through which I did, however management decided not to refund the situation and time we had wasted, and instead offered us a complimentary room, which we did not take."
