The hotel is walking distance from Main Road where the taxi stop. even though the security is outside but nobody help to bring the luggage. the wifi is EXTREMELY BAD. the room condition is too simple and furnishings is old. Only the window view is nice but the window condition is bad. NOT WORTH for the price paid.

Nice quiet location yet close to everything in Chaweng, but a bit pricey, older crowd and Wifi hardly worked. Nevertheless the staff was nice as well as the hotel so we will likely be back! Thank u!!

Lovely hotel on the beach
This lovely hotel is right on the beach. The room was very comfortable and clean. The staff was very friendly and anticipated your every need. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious. I look forward to going back!

NICE HOTEL BUT TERRIBLE STAFF
HOTEL IS VERY GOOD AND THE LOCATION IS TERRIFIC RIGHT ON THE BEACH NEXT TO AMARI AND ARK BAR. SEVEN ELEVEN IS JUST OUTSIDE THE HOTEL AND THE MAIN CHAWENG STREET BARS ARE 2 MINS AWAY HOTEL IS VERY GOOD BUT THE STAFF IS TERRIBLE THEY DO NOT UNDERSTAND ENGLISH AND ARE NOT INTERESTED IN HELPING YOU OUT. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO GET ANYTHING FROM ROOM SERVICE OR HOUSEKEEPING BECAUSE THEY WILL NOT UNDERSTAND YOU APART FROM THE LANGUAGE ISSUE THIS HOTEL IS THE BEST YOU CAN GET. ONLY THE RESTAURANT UNDERSTANDS ENGLISH AND YOU WILL FIND ELITE CROWD IN THIS HOTEL I WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN.

Best Spot in Chaweng
My wife and I stayed at Iyara Beach Hotel and Plaza as part of our honeymoon. We found the staff to be very helpful, even though some had questionable English capabilities - but in general this never created many issues. The location of the hotel is exceptionally good with many restaurants in close walking distance. The hotel has a fantastic pool, only meters from the beach. The rooms are comfortable, but we did feel that they are a bit dated and require some maintenance. Also, the room we got hadn’t been cleaned as well as we would have liked upon arrival, but this was soon remedied. The one thing that could have been better, was the water pressure and bath/shower as a whole - the shower curtain was yellow from age and the bath was stained. All in all, we had a fantastic stay at the hotel and have every intention of visiting again at the end of 2018.

Close to a very nice beach
Once arrived greeted with a cold drink and a cold towel, from the start the staff was just excellent in every way, it was my birthday and on that day a knock on my door dressed in just boxer shorts I opened the door only to be greeted by 3 staff holding a birthday cake singing happy birthday it was very thoughtful and that’s how the staff are. The beach is stunning and location is perfect a short walk to the high street with shops and restaurants. I would stay again only because of the staff being so nice our room was dated and very dark had trouble opening the windows only to be greeted by a wall, but sitting in the dining area with the beach behind you forget about the room. Our 2 nights was fine and had a great birthday thanks to the staff.

Great Location
The Iyara is located directly on the beach with a beautiful pool overlooking the beach. After booking in I found the bathroom somewhat smelly which was attended to by the staff immediately. I would thoroughly recommend a stay at this resort.

Excellent value. Staff are amazing. Pool and area is the cleanest experienced. Breakfast good, pool bar lunch good value - best club sandwich ever. Location excellent - 5 min walk from all shops and restaurants. During low tide the walk across the sand dunes to the island is stunning, much better than the hotels own beach section which is a bit green and slimy. Rooms are comfortable, although mattress harder than used to, towels could do with being replaced with newer softer ones though. Overall a great stay.

I booked 5 delux rooms and 2 superior. The deluxe room were good, they had a sea view. The rooms were a bit shabby and could do with a good tidy up, and to be refreshed with a bit of paint. As could the whole hotel. However the rooms were clean and service at the hote was great. The superior room were not..I booked these for 2 young couples, 6 months in advance.. Both rooms had single beds which was very disappointing, and one had no window. The hotel managed to change one the next day, but really this was not acceptable as both couples wanted a double room.. I would recommend the hotel for location( beach front). I would return as long it was in a delux sea view room.

My husband and I stayed at the Iyara from February 1-5, 2017 and had one of the worst Thai experiences we've had together thus far (we are no strangers to Thailand - this was my 5th trip and my husband's 9th trip; we've been to Chiang Mai, Hua Hin, Krabi, & Phuket together). During our short stay, our air conditioner broke 3 times, electricity went out 2 times, and we were left with absolutely NO WATER for an entire day. Because of the no water situation on our strip of rooms, the FD suggested we shower in a room that was vacant and waiting to be cleaned. We begrudgingly did as we were desperate to shower before a nice dinner, but of course, a worker almost walked in on us. Also, the "turn down service" never happened during our entire stay, and our beach towels were never changed - I had to personally walk up to the Front Desk to ask for new ones. As for cleanliness, I fortunately had Clorox Disinfecting Wipes and wiped everything down upon check-in, and I was grossed out as the bedside tables, desk, TV stand, coffee tables, and bathroom counters were incredibly dirty. After all of these issues, we tried talking to a manager 3 separate times to no success. The saving graces for this place were the staff (friendly and prompt), the beach, and prime location. However, my husband and I were very, very disappointed and would strongly advise not staying here if you're looking for a relatively nice vacation. I would shell out a bit more money and stay at a nicer resort.

Great location, with beautiful views of beach
After we refused to accept a sub standard room, where we'd have to climb onto low beds and look out onto plumbing work and concrete, we were given a hut. Whilst not luxury, it was absolutely fine, it was more spacious, had decent beds and a pleasant outlook. The breakfasts were very good, the staff at the restaurant always friendly, smiling and eager to please. At the beach, the staff helped with lounge chairs and umbrellas, and our time there was very pleasant.

we had 2 delux room .it look like in the picture but its old . the room are in a place that all the time you have water in the entrance to the room .that makes its in convince. the stream of the water in the shower are terible slow ,very very slow. that makes the room for us not good and not fun at all .the toilet alway stuck. and didn't work good. the place of the hotel is good . the pool near the sea it's fun and nice. the breakfast was very good . some of the staff are very nice .because of the of the water stream in the shower and toilet I will not come back to this hotel.

I stayed at this hotel few times : 2009/2012. Few days ago 2016 I came again and I was amazed from what happened to him. Yellow water from the shower and dirty room. Will not come back to there ever

Great location, good views and very good staff
Very good location, right on the top end of chaweng beach where it's a bit quieter and the other side of the hotel is at the top of the main road with all the restaurants and bars. Staff were awesome and would run around to help us. Hotel was pretty quite so they let us have a late checkout and no extra cost which was a massive plus as we could have a shower before heading to the airport in the afternoon. Great hotel for this price bracket.

Very loud aircon, very old place and furniture, bed is horrible, water in bathroom was brown, the whole place smells like a garbage dump. Way too expensive for what this hotel actually offers. The team is nice though, but that does not make up for anything.

Great location + breakfast. Room old, small dark.
Great location - private beautiful beach, near the center of Chaweng beach. Great breakfast and very nice staff. The room that we got (superior) was old, small and dark - no view - even to the street. For upgrafe they demand 1,000 batt a night.
