"The place was for sleeping so you can enjoy the day around town. The staff was exceptional and helpful and too tall for their own good. English was satisfactory if you don’t speak Japanese. "

"The main areas (lobby, hallways, restaurants) were nice enough and clean however our room was not at all what we would have expected for $400/night CAD. The entire hotel was dated and is in need of updating but our room was particularly in bad shape. The air conditioning didn’t work well and we had little control over it. The furniture was all old and worn, not something you would expect for a “nicer hotel chain”. The bathroom had mould and had a terrible sewer smell. It was so bad that we could hardly stand to use it. We had to keep the bathroom door closed at all times so we didn’t have to have a stinky room. When we asked to change rooms they said they had no other rooms available and that they were full. We really had no choice but to stay as we had to pay upon check in and prior to seeing the room. It seemed odd as we saw very few other guests or what you would expect for not having any other rooms available? The front desk staff were polite but English was a bit of a struggle. I would not recommend this hotel, I am certain there are far better choices if staying in Kamakura."

"The moment we entered the apartment, we were amazed by the modern interior and owner’s attention to details. TV box allows YouTube videos and the garden has lots outdoor equipments though we didn’t use any due to the weather. Room is spacious and the kitchen has large variety of small electrical appliances. We cooked over the two day stay and enjoyed the meals on the large dining room table. Though the railway is right in front of the house, there wasn’t a lot of trains passing by at night. Parking lot is just next door, so very convenient for travellers who drive."

"This was an extremely affordable place to suit our last-minute decision to stay in Koshigoe. The room was great, everything was pretty basic but for the price we paid it was more than enough. The owners were wonderful despite our very limited Japanese and even gifted us some postcards on departure! We were able to leave our bags on the day of checkout and explore the area before heading onto our next destination."
