Nothing unique - hotel's age is showing. Staff was friendly and responsive to special requests i.e. scheduling of daily room service and housekeeping. (I was there for an online workshop so timing was important.)
The food was TERRIBLE and terribly OVERPRICED. I had a disgusting "chicken burger" - very, very old meat, hard, stringy, mayonnaise that smelt. Served with tapioca chips that were equally old and stale. No cutlery or napkin provided, no tray. RM60. (Fried rice goes for RM70.)
Breakfast was also below par - very cheap, sugared cornflakes with bits of strawberry and dried fruit, yoghurt, cut fresh fruit (this was okay), two pastries, butter. Coffee was good.
On the plus side, after my complaint (I brought the offending dish to the front office), the F&B manager asked for a personal meeting. And I was told that it had been highlighted internally. I hope they sort it out.
Overall, for its five-star rating, I would give the Majestic Hotel KL, an average rating.
