"Amazing property and visit, exceeded our expectations. Stayed in one of the larger suites. The suite itself was fantastic in terms of views, design, decorating, furniture, and being well equipped. The views out the rear wall of windows was amazing. We often found ourselves just sitting there taking in the views and sunsets. The staff was terrific. The proximity to Vik was great. The beauty and serenity of the location of the property was wonderful. Cant recommend enough."

"From the moment we arrived, we felt welcome. The staff were always attentive and friendly while still being down to earth. Both breakfast and dinner were just lovely, with locally sourced ingredients and creative cocktails. The sauna and yoga room proved necessary at the end of each day of hiking and exploring the area - it’s so close to Skógafoss, Seljalandsfoss, Solheimajökull, Reynisfjara, and Vik. This is a beautiful property, with awe-inspiring scenery from every angle, so bring your camera. The walk to the beach takes a bit longer than they say, but it’s worth it. We got lucky early on our first evening with a short but unexpected burst of aurora activity - just standing outside looking at the stars in the right place at the right time! - but they do have a wake-up service for anyone wishing to see the northern lights when they start up. My only (minor) demerit was for the bed comfort, but it’s certainly not the worst I’ve had in Iceland or anywhere else in Europe, so it’s barely worth mentioning. I will definitely return to UMI! <3"
