Spa hotel with no spa
We were disappointed that a five star spa hotel didn’t have a working spa. The staff just shrugged their shoulders and said “sorry it’s closed due to low occupancy”. When people pay that kind of money then the promised services should be available. Or we should have been told in advance. The bed pillows were also uncomfortable with no alternatives and duvet cover wasn’t sealed so the duvet kept coming out. Breakfast was very limited for a hotel of this stature. Salmon was bright purple infused with beetroot but no mention of beetroot on the menu.

Best hotel in Kiev
The Fairmont Kiev, in my opinion, is the best hotel in Kiev. zits right on the river with great views, and the surrounding area is full of great places to eat. The room is true Fairmont quality, exceptional bed and the bath amenities are fantastic. Hotel staff is very friendly and the breakfast buffet alone is worth the stay.

This was a very nice hotel 5-6 years ago. It now has a Casino, carpeting and furniture has not been updated and housekeeping forgets to replace items after cleaning. There are many better choices now in Kyiv

we went for a weekend city break and it was a great choice. friendly and professional staff as always in Fairmonts. great location to the main attractions. room was comfy and spacious. breakfast was amazing and even though we were late no one was rushing so we can relax and enjoy it. great service. will be back

The hotel was nice but the casino managers were rude .i took money out on my card and when I won I told them to reverse The money .They said no we can only give u in cash .that I found to be strange . I asked them to give me it in writing and they said no . So I would not recommend the casino

Beautiful hotel but it had horrible common spaces - nowhere comfortable to relax, strange colors, and it appeared the hotel tried to be “hip” and failed. Many of the staff were incredible, however others were not and even ignored us. We had a gorgeous suite with view of the River, very comfortable bed. Beautiful bathroom.

Staff needs training
Staff needs to be trained and don't call guest rooms on Sunday at 8.30 am saying that I was smoking and had the windown open. I said I don't smoke and the woman on the phone was agressive on the tone of her voice saying that they saw in the security video. I said again that it wasn't me and I don't smoke... In the end it was rude, didn't listen to what the customer was saying. They then verified again and saw it was in another room. Then called when I was almost falling asleep again to say they checked and it was someone else! Room wasn't cleaned at least in 2 days that I was there. My name was missing twice from the breakfast list, I had to go to reception, they told me I didnt have breakfast included, then I had to show my reservation on my phone showing that I had breakfast included, they had to take a photo of my phone screen.... drama in a 5 star hotel. Restaurant staff are well trained.

We had a good comfortable stay at the hotel. The female receptionist was welcoming, nice and friendly. She offered us a free upgrade when I asked for a room with a view. However, in our 2nd day housekeeping did not clean the room nor changed towels! We accidentally found chips and crumbs under the TV table which we showed to the bell boy. Moreover, at night when I attempted to take a salt bath, hair came out of the tub drain as I started the water. I, therefore, took shower instead. In my opinion, the coffee shop at the lobby is too small for a grand hotel like the Fairmont

Great location and great rooms. The restaurant closes early in the hotel, and the bar is smoking-free. The service in the restaurant is just ok (no really friendly) but the food is good. The SPA is bad, same with the pool.

My first time at the Fairmont in Kiev and was a fabulous experience. Beautiful hotel and walking distance to some good restaurants. Hotel breakfast out of this world.

This is truly a 5 star hotel. The service is excellent and the food is superb. My room was spacious and elegant. The location is perfect and the river view from my room was entertaining and soothing at the same time. I have tried several 5 star hotels in Kyiv and although several are excellent this has been my favorite so far.

The policy of hotel does not correspond the price .I made the payment when I booked my room thru hotels.com. I arrived the hotel with a friend of mine. When we are at the hotel,At checking, they asked our credit cards for deposit of using mini bar. My friend did not have his card with him. So they said, it is ok, if we use anything from mini bar , we should pay later. They asked me if it is ok for me too. I said ok too. so we checked in and after 10 minutes someone knocked the door. I opened the door and saw a guy from room service is waiting outside. I asked what happened ? he was a little bit ashamed and said, "you did not pay deposit and I have to take everything inside from mini bar" :)) he came in and took them all :)) it was really funny to see something like that in a 5 star hotel. and very dissapointing!! For many years I ve stayed many hotels. in someof them I paid deposit at check in , some I did not. But first time I saw something like that. :((( PS: And also maybe it is not the most important thing, but, the toilet papers they put in our room were the cheapest quality that you can find in the market. Maybe you can see that kind of toilet papers in 2 star hotels. The only good thing , was the guy IGOR at the reception. He was very friendly. only he deserves 5 star in that hotel.

Superb location, extra accommodating staff willing to help you with literally anything to make you feel like home. We were staying at grand suite and originally planned to switch to grand Hyatt for the next day. Instead we decided to extend at fairmont. Best value for your dollar

Five Star Service
The Fairmont is located right on the river in the historic Podil neighborhood. However the Maidan and Khreshchatyk are just an easy 15 minutes walk though a beautiful park and memorial. Or one can take the historic funicular railway up the hill which is about 2 minutes from the hotel. Our club level room was spacious and well appointed and kept spotless during our 6 night stay. The Club Lounge on the 11th floor was wonderful as was the staff. I rarely use concierges but the concierge staff at the Fairmont was particularly helpful in every way. Also the Vogue Cafe was wonderful for breakfast and dinner and the front manager very gracious. Taxis are cheap and plentiful. I would not hesitate to recommend the Fairmont as a base of operations in Kyiv. We did not get a chance to use the pool, spa, our bar.
