staff is kind and formal and dry very accommodating and very stoic i liked the workers the room was nice but could use a new mattress and new pillows the windows of the room were TERRIBLY during which impacted the amazing view

Unique about he property was the pleasantness of the room interior and the gorgeous view on the city from our room’s balcony in the sixth floor. The architecture of the hotel, exterior and interior (take a walk from the lobby to the restaurant via the spiralling red corridor), is a vivid remnant of communism. However, don’t count on the in-house restaurant other than as a curious space, which is apparently also attached to a strip club with no customers and no music, but service is available 24/7 if you show up. Awesome place to stay in, also interesting to explore itself.

the only fault I found with the hotel ,is the breakfast I have been coming to your hotel for the past three years and the breakfast has never changed. a change would go down well

Decent hotel to explore Kiev from.
My stay at the salute hotel was good. they have an in hotel restaurant that also serves their breakfast and room service with decent food. My room was clean and mostly comfortable although the mattress for the bed was a little bit thin (but this is typical in my experience with beds in eastern europe). The only oddities I came across was that they don't accept credit card payments at the hotel so I had to withdraw funds from the ATM in the lobby (it was fee free so that's nice at least) over a couple of days to pay for the room. And the phone in the sitting room didn't work. Other than that, the my stay was decent and the area is nice. It isn't directly in the city center, but it's close and it was only a two or three dollar uber trip away if you don't feel like walking about a mile. But regardless the area is pleasant with multiple parks nearby and many restaurants if you don't want to eat at the hotel. The staff was helpful and spoke reasonable english but more important, they were always friendly and willing to try to help. I would recommend this place for someone who would like a quiet place to stay that isn't directly in the city center.

Great hotel, close to a lot of interesting sights.
I really didn’t know what to expect, but what a nice surprise. Walking in, the lobby is spacious and clean. The employee behind the desk spoke excellent English as did all the staff I encountered. The free breakfast was a little disappointing, but it was edible and different. The room it’s self was clean and comfortable. It was a little warm at night for me, even with the thermostat turned all the way down, but cracking the balcony door was all it took. Over all I would rate it a 4.5 due to the warm ness of the room and the lackluster breakfast. I will stay there again.

Salute Hotel
Comfortable, hotel near good restaurants, the Golodomor Monument, and other attractions. Good breakfast buffet, clean rooms, nicely decorated, quiet rooms. Reasonably priced. I would not hesitate to stay there when visiting Kiev.

The receptionists were very helpful and responsive regarding room temperature, and towels. They were also very helpful in interpreting my call for a taxi.

Good Location, good value
The property make look a bit odd but its location is wonderful (30 minute walk to Independence Square) they offer a nice breakfast and there are a couple of cafes on the property. Small but nice and clean rooms some with pretty good views. The staff is more than willing to help you with whatever you need. What they offer is at a very moderate price. I have stayed there twice and would do so again.

Noise and disappointing cafe/restaurant
If you have a high tolerance for Euro rock being blasted out until 6am and obnoxious Americans deciding to "party" at 7am it's not too bad. The front desk staff are helpful and the room is fine. Don't eat there though. The breakfast is functional at best and service is desultory otherwise the lengthy delays between course.

A hotel with an interesting design from the outside but quite boring and dated inside. Room was not so comfortable and the WiFi did not work in the room. Also the room was very hot and stuff, even at the end of September. Not a bad hotel but also not a good one.

Nice stay in a classic Soviet hotel
Overall my stay was very good. I had a room on the sixth floor with a balcony that had a great view of the city. The room was clean, quiet, and had a comfortable bed. The location was good, close to a nice park & a five minute walk to the metro. The only negative was that the wi-fi was slow at times.

One night breaking the routine.

Soviet architecure jewel!
Soviet design jewel with interesting lobby and breakfast room. Although the hotel is a bit dated (inc. the early 90s room decor), I think it is a part of its charm. It's not the hippest or most luxurious hotel in town, but if you are looking to experience Kyiv's Soviet past, this hotel is definitely the place to stay! Centrally located with very friendly staff.
