"The best hotel in Bacalar. i have been coming to Akalki for over 14 years and never disappoints. Take note that the bungalow rooms on the water ( 1-4) do have air conditioning - the website ( expedia listing ) is not clear about that. Make sure to take a tour to go visit the temple and take Akalki boat tour on the water with your captain Yan. Every morning there is a holistic experience of either sound healing, yoga , meditation - endulge in these experiences as well. The spa is also incredible and also had one of the most amazing holistic massages. Akalki isn’t just a hotel but rather a sanctuary to turn inward and connect with nature."

"Breakfast supposed to be included, the owners son cooked food all night long just to tell us that there was no breakfast and the food was for sale by the kilo. Lots of construction blocking the view shown in the pictures. Bathroom door it was a see trough. I went there with my family, and it was horrible to cover our heads every time someone needs to use the bathroom or take a shower. 0 privacy. Not coming back ever."
