Le Flon district pulses as Lausanne's premier nightlife hub. Once a warehouse area, it now boasts sleek cocktail bars, underground clubs, and a multiplex cinema. Modern sculptures punctuate pedestrian plazas where restaurant terraces create a lively atmosphere. Design boutiques occupy glass-fronted spaces beneath soaring industrial ceilings. The striking contrast of preserved red-brick warehouses with sleek additions creates a sophisticated urban feel. Metro M2 connects directly to Lausanne centre in just three minutes.

Upscale restaurants serve fresh perch with mountain views. Though tourist-oriented, the flat walkable promenades offer peaceful lake access and gorgeous sunset strolls.

Lausanne Center

Historic Lausanne Centre charms visitors with its medieval cobblestone streets and Gothic cathedral. The pedestrianised areas around Place de la Palud create a delightful atmosphere for exploring shops and cafes. Steep pathways reveal unexpected views of Lake Geneva and the distant Alps. Discover cultural treasures at the Palais de Rumine's museums or the unique Collection de l'Art Brut. The Swiss-French heritage shines through local bistros serving traditional fondue. Most attractions are within walking distance, though the M2 metro helps navigate the hilly terrain.

Montriond-Cour

Montriond-Cour is a peaceful residential haven where charming streets blend with natural beauty. The neighborhood's crown jewels include Parc de Milan with its majestic trees and the University's Botanical Gardens featuring exotic plant collections. Cultural enthusiasts will appreciate the Museum of Zoology's fascinating exhibits. This tranquil area offers a genuine slice of Swiss local life. Regular buses connect you to Lausanne's centre in just 15 minutes. Stroll through tree-lined avenues or explore small bistros serving traditional Swiss fare. Hôtel des Voyageurs

Hôtel des Voyageurs

10/10 Excellent
"Clean, conveniently located one metro stop from the train station or 10 min walk. It’s close to the Cathedral and other old town attractions, restaurants and shopping. The breakfast was great, but not included, we had to pay 20 CHS/pp. They charged 2 CHS for extra nespresso pods (only 2 provided for 2 night stay). The shower was clogged but fixed upon request. The portable AC came in handy during the heat wave. Overall loved this charming hotel and can recommend it."

"Nice, affordable hotel. The location is wonderful and they provided us the free transportation card for Lausanne which made getting around very easy. There's not anything in the area for breakfast and we ate at the hotel which wasn't expensive and was pretty extensive. We brought a car and parked in the ramp overnight -- yes, there's a fee, but its not out of line with hotels anywhere in the world. The room was spacious for three people with too much luggage. The A/C worked well. The beds were comfortable (my teenager loved the Murphy bed with the "normal mattress"!). The family was all happy."

Beautiful views of Lake Geneva. Several food options on site. Walkable into town and the path along the lake. All the staff were very friendly and helpful with anything we needed.
