A great deal of the hotel as been refurbished and the rest is underway. The lounge, bar and restaurant are nice, as was our room. Excellent full English breakfast for me and vegetarian breakfast for my wife.

On arrival the staff were excellent. So friendly, polite and efficient. This includes the reception, restaurant, bar and the cleaners.
The room was very clean with all facilities required (an excellent shower). There has been a lot of renovation to exterior and lounge/bar/restaurant with what I understand rooms in the agenda.
Breakfast procedure, staff and food was excellent.
We will definitely return again when in the area

Good Morning Chris,Thank you for you kind review, we are very glad to hear you enjoyed your stay.Hope to see you again soonKind RegardsJeff StaniforthReception Manager
The property is clearly in process of a makeover with the Bar/Restaurant/Lounge areas already completed and if the rooms hat a fraction of this it will be an amazing location.
The staff were excellent, could not be more polite and efficient throughout.
Will definitely stay when next in the area

There is a very annoying light in the passage way inside the bedroom door. I could find no way of switching the light off. I was unable to sleep until putting a case in front to block the light.

Dear Richard,I'm very sorry to hear about this inconvenience during your stay. These lights are normally controlled by a switch beside the bed in the room.Could I please know your room number so I can check this and refer to our maintenance team if needed? Many thanksJeff StaniforthReception Manager

Thatchers is a regular overnight stay for me for family care. It’s tired. Nothing quite works in the rooms. And paper cups to make tea.

Guys get a chef in! After a 12 hour day to be told no food tonight is fairly crap!
An offer of sandwiches would have been something not here’s a bag of crisps for £2.50! Or there’s a BP garage on the corner.
Think you are missing a trick there, staff were fine just nobody in a tall white hat!
Hotel was tired in decor woodwork unclean paper cups in the bedroom with a leaky kettle. They charged my card as a holding deposit not sure what they thought I was going to do to the room. Shower was good bedding and towels clean however not impressed with the overall experience will not use again
Thé hotel is looking very tired. We do take into account the two years of covid restrictions and the impact that this may have had on the hotel funding. However many establishments took this opportunity to revamp their decor. This hotel clearly didn’t . Cold showers in the morning, lack of drawer space within the room ,
Probably have to be desperate to stay here again
My stay was okay, but up till this moment £25 deposit, I deposited have not been reverse. Which I'm not happy about since 10 a.m I left yesterday. It was quite bad. I expected them to refund my deposit immediately.
Plenty of parking. The hotel was dated but immaculately clean. Our room was spacious, absolutely spotless.
The bed was large & comfy.
The shower was powerful & the towels on the hot radiator was a nice touch.
We noticed how quiet it was. Breakfast was good too.
Friendly helpful start. Reasonable breakfast and restaurant food. Bathroom poorly cleaned and noisy slow filling toilet. No hangers in wardrobe. Lovely setting and reasonable price.
Great looking hotel, service really good, food and drink a little expensive, but not exceedingly so, but it had cardboard cups for tea or coffee in the rooms. Cardboard is not what you expect, or want in a high end hotel.
Hotel was dirty, urine on the bathroom floors, pubic hair in the bath,
Tea and coffee stains everywhere
When we complained they sent a cleaner in but it still stunk of urine and they didn’t even mop the bathroom floor
Sent an email to complain to the hotel but not heard anything back
Could have been lovely but staff (what staff there was!) clearly didn’t want to be there and the morning reception lady was just plain rude. Internally the rooms were old, tired and hadn’t been refurbished in 20 years, and very basic. Pillows hard as rocks. Just didn’t feel like a welcomed or wanted guest
The hotel is situated on an A road within easy reach of the A3 with access to the M25 so very convenient. I was to the rear of the hotel and it was very quiet. Car parking was good. Check-in was excellent and staff throughout very friendly and helpful. Breakfast and dinner were both plentiful, well cooked and presented and served. However, I do have one complaint and that is having arrived at around 17:00 and asked to book for dinner, I was refused. The reason given was that a coach party of 100 was due and they could not cope with any more. I would have thought that something other than "there's a pub up the road" could have been offered. As I did not want to take that option, I made do with half a sandwich that I had with me! In all other respects I would rate the hotel as excellent and perhaps the management could consider offering something under these circumstances.
Unfortunately disappointing.
Way too much dust on the shelves and above the bed head.
The towel was at least 5 years old and like something you would find at the bottom of a sports bag.
No complementary shower products.
The bed was up against the wall of the adjoining toilet. You could here the light being turned on and then what followed. That’s how thin the walls up. (Then the chap next door was snoring all night - not hotels fault)
The tv remote control didn’t work.
A paint. Better pillows. A clean and some soap. Not too much to ask.
Positive - the staff where very friendly and good.
I also thought it said there was parking. There is not. That could have been my mistake.
The evening dinner and breakfast was lovely.
They need to improve their general cleaning, cobwebs and carpets needed hoovering. The bedroom we stayed in needed upgrading and general cleanliness was disappointing, dust round bath etc.
