"2 nights stay and although we booked b&b we were able to book dinner on the evening we arrived. The hosts were charming and made us feel very welcome. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and accessible, even on the first floor via a very narrow staircase. As 80 year olds we were cautious on the stairs but no problems. The breakfast was fine and sufficient. The location was perfect for us. We were able to visit the chateaux of the Listrac and also Pauillac very easily."

"We were here to rest and recharge after spending the day wine tasting. This chateau is quiet and peaceful. Staff is friendly and speaks our language which is not common in many parts of France. We would highly recommend this hotel to others."

"A quirky friendly family run hotel. Rooms are not large but everything you need and a great price for such a prime location. Staff were very friendly and helpful, we would definitely stay here again if visiting Bordeaux."

"The room and bathroom were small but they were clean and well kept. It was only a short walk to several stores and to the tram that goes to the airport and Bordeaux city center. The young woman at the check in was very nice."

"It was affordable and perfect location. However we were on the top floor so there was 84 stairs to get to our room. The room was small which we expected but there wasnt even room on either side of the bed to get in or out. We had to crawl to the end of the bed to access it. Very very very tiny. We did however see bigger rooms on our way out when the maid was cleaning. We would stay again for location but this was a very basic accommodation. Do not go with high expectations. "Accommodation in architecturally interesting building separate from reception and breakfast room. Good breakfast. No bar, or mini-bar available. A bed-and-breakfast more than a hotel. Comfortable room, but bathroom ready for maintenance over the winter. Excellent restaurant nearby. "

Mondrian Bordeaux Les Carmes

10/10 Excellent

"Overall the stay at this hotel was excellent from check in, to breakfast, through dinner and cocktail options as well as the amenities, everything was well thought through. My only comments are that we did not receive our VIP perks, water was €12 & with the temperatures this is excessive even for a 5* hotel. Finally the aircon was great but every evening it was turned off so in the evening it was difficult to sleep. "

"Room was very comfy and the small kitchenette meant we could have breakfast/lunch there if we chose to. The apartments are located next to a tram station allowing quick access into the centre but is also very close to the river with a lively promenade route available for walking into the centre (about 30 mins ). We also used the promenade for our morning run on a couple of mornings. It is also very convenient for the Cite Du Vin which was five minutes walk away. Overall, we found the staff friendly and helpful. Great to have parking in the basement but access is through a side road and you need an access code to enter - which was a bit tricky to figure out on arrival. Overall, we were very impressed and felt it offered very good value for money."
