"It was relaxing to stay there. I enjoyed the fact that there was a full kitchen and dining area. I wish that we had thought to reserve a fishing boat for at least a half a day."

"This seems like a newer hotel. It is not luxury, but it is clean, quiet, the rooms are spacious, and the beds were very comfortable (ESPECIALLY the pillows which weren't overstuffed monstrosities like many hotels have). There was tea/ coffee/ hot chocolate 24/7. The lobby isn't big, so if you were stuck in your room due to weather, you probably wouldn't go there, but I found the room large enough with lots of "tuck your luggage away" spaces, so it wouldn't feel too cramped if you were confined there. The staff was friendly and helpful, the parking ample, and the location is very close to Hwy 61 (less than a mile up the hill). While we didn't use these "extras" there was a nice little arbor with hammocks, a grill, outside fire pit one could use for a campfire. To top it all off, the price is astoundingly low for the North Shore, especially in season. There is no view of the lake, but the woods are lovely, and for the price, it's a steal. I would definitely stay here again."
"Inn is located perfectly for walking anywhere in Grand Marais. Patio on the lake is wonderful! Room was okay….. needed a deep cleaning. Bed was very lumpy. There was no air conditioning. Staff was very nice!"
"If you’re looking for a hotel with updated, modern decor this is not your place.
The room was comfortable and mostly clean.
Staff were friendly, courteous, and helpfull.
I have a boat trailer and did find a place to park, but there are no designated parking spots for long and or trailered vehicles.
All said, I would stay here again"
"Beautiful suite for a young family, easy Murphy bed for night time bed space, cute little balcony with a lovely view of the mountain. Lots of stairs, tvs didn’t work (and apparently no one on staff to fix them), and a short walk to the outdoor heated pool. Perfect spot for staying while enjoying summer in the north shore."
"Loved the location, the comfort and cleanliness of not just our room but the entire property. Beautiful common area and chairs on the porch overlooking the lake in the sun. Restaurant next door had good food and discount for those staying on the property."
