Very well situated in the old town. Bit confusing inside as in many levels and although lift available there are still stairs on several levels to reach rooms. There was no kettle or microwave available. The hot drink facility was down two floors in communal kitchen with boiling water tap, which was okay but a room kettle is preferable, especially as the British like their cups of tea! Room a good size, nice toiletries. No washing up liquid or tea towels. Dishwasher only and minimal crockery/ cutlery if self catering.

I did not receive an email to check in, luckily a girl at the attached bar was kind enough to help me. It would have been incredibly inconvenient had we arrived one hour later when the bar was closed.

We loved our stay that the Lubo! It’s in a great location and very convenient for shopping and food! The cafe below was also amazing. Even though the Lubo is a self check in, it was very easy to get in contact with staff and get any problems sorted. We stayed in the double room and it was very spacious and came with anything you would need for an easy stay. It was very clean and the property is newly renovated and looks great. Would recommend and will be staying if we come back!

This property was great for our stay! Super convenient location, great amenities and cozy. Check-in and building access through mobile is easy. Laundry facilities and community room was also a bonus. Would recommend to anyone to stay here.

Overall, I am not sure I would stay again - the self check-in was OK, however as someone mentioned in another review, the property is weird with a lot of stairs, which with luggage was very annoying! I checked in and the room was not as described so I had to email to ask them to help, finally I had to check in again to get my new room. I purchased food to cook in the room and the hot plates were not working which was very frustrating. The laundry room was a major bonus for me.

When we first arrived we had an issue with our room however it was quickly sorted. No staff on site however they are super responsive to email. Bathroom is updated. Hotel is clean. Laundry services on site - huge bonus!!

The check in process is easy unless a glitch happens (glitch happened to our friends who we are traveling with). The stairs (3-4 steps) going up to where the elevator is and few more stairs going up to the room makes it difficult if you have big, heavy luggages. The room space is great! The kitchenette is great! We were able to cook dinner some nights to save money from the expensive restaurants in Lucerne. The only thing I don’t like is having only 2 pillows(1 each twin bed) and the pillow is so thin and soggy. Otherwise, bed and blanket is comfortable.

Check in was not as easy as they claim. Our safe was already locked upon arrival. Emailed front desk to have it fixed and was told housekeeper would come bynand check. Unfortunately we never even got housekeeping much less a house keeper to fix the safe.

Paid extra for the kitchenette and the stove tops didn’t work, employees had no idea how to get them to work either. A/C unit would make an ungodly noise every 5 minutes making it impossible to sleep with it on.

3.5/5 - Easy enough to find. The self check-in is fine. The room was fine. Room service was okay. They changed towels but did not change sheets and we were there one week. The only issue and it’s the reason for a lower review is that it’s rather noisy. You could hear everyone banging their luggage in the hall every morning as they went up and down the stairs. You can hear voices all the time. If you’re a light sleeper you’ll be frustrated. Other than noise, it was pretty good.

I really liked the amenities and our room. We are a family of 4 adults that stayed in the “dormitory “ style room—it had one double bed and two bunks. Each bed was really comfy, though the bunks had very low clearance so they are not good for claustrophobic types or really tall people. Each bed had ports to charge phones And other devices, which was great! The room was well laid out for the small space and we fit in it. The TV included English language options which we really appreciated. We also appreciated the laundry facilities on site. I’m not a fan of contact-less, virtual check-ins, but luckily the adjoining cafe staff helped us check in (I never got the email explaining the process). The location in the old city was perfect with lots of charming places within Walking distance (including the train station).

The Luba was excellent for our stay with spacious rooms and a very quick walk from all of the dining and river views that Lucerne has to offer. The keyless entry and self checkin were convenient and there was a community room with digital laid laundry and free coffee plus a vending machine with drinks and snacks.

Great location!
Comfortable room. Very very thankful for the AC unit in the room. It kept us cool at night and also I love the "white noise" it created. Our private bathroom ended up being across the hall from our room, but it was just for our use, so it worked out just fine. (that's the first time I've experienced that) The coffee shop off the lobby is nice and we enjoyed breakfast there one morning.

Good value and unbeatable location
Loved the chic interiors and the technological forwardness of the Lubo. The laundry area for us was a welcome plus and the cafe downstairs is modern and nice. The rooms were clean and well furnished.

I didn’t expect when I booked the Room with a prívate bathroom to be given a Room with a bathroom on the hallway, not connected to the Room at all! Also, air conditioner was a portable unit, had to leave the windows open to let the exhaust hose outside. Another thing, I left my luggage in a storage they offered that was on a common hallway, unsupervised and it was left open for every one to use. And then I tried calling the number on the website for help with an issue, they said they were attending other calls and would call me back in 15 minutes, but never did. I would not recommend this hotel only except for the location and that is nicely remodeled.

Lubo hotel was a good hotel, a clean room and organized staff. The key concern was the room size, it was very small and very limited in space.

Problematic check-in
The property was very nice and clean. Good location. However, the self check-in was a huge problem. The machine did not work and the online check-in also malfunctioned. There were lots of people waiting to check in. Took forever to reach someone on the phone. The waiter at the bar next door ended up giving everyone universal keycards, which made us feel uneasy about security.

If you have a vehicle know that this hotel is in a pedestrian only area. You can park nearby in a public garage. Simple, clean, quiet. Excellent location!

Great place! So good to have access to washing facilities! Check in was abit of a nightmare but that was due to me booking on the day so the room wasn’t ready when we checked in at 3pm. So close to everything including good distance to train. Stairs were hard with luggage but overall good stay

Modern, clean and convenient hotel located in the heart of the altstadt. Our room, which includes a kitchenette, was spacious for all 4 of us, including our bags and stroller. Access to the rooms and the lift requires that you climb 21 steps up and a couple more steps down, which isn't very accessible for us with large bags and a stroller. There isn't a lot of storage facilities, so we ended up lugging around one of our big bags before check in. Hotel wasn't as responsive prior to check in.

Great hotel, great location, we loved Lucerne!!!!!
Overall the hotel was great. It was a short walk from the train station. There are plenty of restaurants, cafes, and shops within easy walking distance of the hotel. There is a grocery store nearby where we could purchase food, snacks and other small items. The room had plenty of space for the two of us and was clean. The kitchenette is perfect for anyone who wants to do some cooking (we only boiled water for coffee). Since we arrived early and there was only a kiosk for self check-in, we were concerned with a 3 pm check-in. Luckily, we spoke with one of the cleaning staff and we were able to store our bags in the locked laundry room. That allowed us to walk around town until we could check in. We had a slight delay with check-in (confirmation number did not work), but when we called the number on the kiosk, a friendly woman confirmed our reservation and provided the correct number to check-in. Other than that issue, the entire stay was fantastic. Great hotel, perfect location, easy access to everything we needed, easy walking to all the sites we wanted to see in the area. If and when we return, I would stay at the Lubo again.
