While we have stayed in Hanoi's exclusive hotels, costing much more money in the past, the Royal Palace has been much more satisfying. The hotel is on a quiet side street in the Old Quarter, but just a few minutes walk to the excitement of shopping and eating. The most noteworthy comment is the friendly and interested staff. "It’s a beautiful hotel within walking distance to Hoàn Kiếm Lake. Lots of food, shopping and travel agencies right outside of the hotel where one can go to book trips, excursions and exchange money. The hotel also has a beautiful rooftop bar and pool. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. It made our stay pleasurable. Our rooms were very clean and we were up on the 8th floor away from the noise. The rooms were lovely, however, I’d suggest that the hotel improve the lighting in the bathroom and provide lighter bed covers. The current thick down comforter is too warm and not comfortable for sleeping. "
