Charming hotel with views of the lake, comfy room, great breakfast and next to Lugano’s train station (at the end of its platform 4) where the Bernina Express bus journey terminates at.

Room was spacious and clean with a really nice view of the surroundings. The Staff were really friendly and also helpful.

The hotel is well located right in the old town facing the lake. The rooms are traditional rooms with traditional wooden wardrobes, split level air conditioning, and hot water heating. A sumptuous buffet is being served in the restaurant overlooking the lake. The only problem was that the safe deposit box was not working.

Really enjoyed our stay especially since we were so kindly given an upgrade to a HUGE suite. As many of the reviews shared the place is a little run down but I think there’s a certain laid back charm in that. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly - room was beautiful, breakfast sufficient (staff and coffee were wonderful), and location unbearable (bus just outside takes you everywhere 5 min to train station). Decent hotel but overpriced considering there was no air-conditioning in the room and it was during a heatwave when I stayed. Room is basic but has everything you need but I would advise to check with the hotel whether the room has air-conditioning if staying in the summer.

If you like staying in the forest or up in the hill, this is the place. The owner and his staff provide great services and the owner is also the chef who can cook pretty well Italian food.
