"The reception staff were excellent so polite and helpful. Great classy hotel. Service is excellent in all areas. Room was very quirky but in a nice way . Very dark wallpaper lovely huge bed and linens. Breakfast was ok for free. Capuccino was delicious. Would we go back? Definitely just not for a long while as it is being restored in September so closed for a long time. Cant wait to see refurbed hotel . "

"Wonderful location ,wonderful staff and excellent food. One real problem for me was the intense noise from the floorboards above. This wasn't creaks but near crashings! It is an old building but the noise from corridors is also significant. As this is a wedding hotel one night stays will be typical so guests won't be likely to comment. Two broken nights for me was enough. All that said I would stop again but perhaps the top floor!"

"We had a lovely time, just a few things that slightly dampened the experience. Need black out blinds in the family room as the light was streaming through until late and with the heat as well the children couldn't get to sleep until it went dark. The gastro pub food l would give a miss in future, very bland, dry and of poor quality but high prices. We would 100% come back though."

"The counter, breakfast staff were helpful and pleasant. What I did not like and should have made a fuss about was the evening meal. The fries were over cooked and hard. The onion rings had been cremated, dark brown and burnt. I left half the meal as it was disgusting. I thought then and hoped the morning breakfast wasn’t going to be the same. Luckily it was excellent, must have a different chef for evening and breakfast meals."

"The room was lovely, spacious and clean with a nice bathroom and lovely shower! The receptionist were really nice though the staff in the garden room (restaurant) could improve. The male staff were pleasant enough though some of the female staff need to Improve their customer service."
