"After spending over 30 hours researching camps in Kenya, choosing Masa Major Camp was one of the best travel decisions I’ve ever made. It didn’t just live up to the glowing reviews—it far exceeded them. From the moment I arrived, the experience felt more like joining a warm, welcoming family than simply staying at a lodge. The staff were incredible—attentive, genuinely kind, and made me feel at home every single day. The game drives were absolutely unforgettable. Our guide seemed to know exactly where to be at the right time, and we saw breathtaking wildlife moments I’ll never forget. Having breakfasts and lunches out in the bush—surrounded by stunning scenery and wildlife—made the experience even more magical. And the food back at camp? Outstanding. Easily on par with (or better than) any five-star restaurant I’ve been to. Every meal felt special, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared. If you’re looking for a once-in-a-lifetime safari experience that you’ll never want to leave, I cannot recommend Masa Major Camp enough. It’s the kind of place that stays with you long after you’ve gone."

"We stayed 2 nights, the property was beautiful right in the middle of Masai Mara. The rooms were good except that they were a little too dark. Little more lighting would have been good. We had the presidential suite so we had the whole suite to ourselves which was nice. Food was good, lot of variety (vegetarian and indian food options). One downside was power getting cut both nights we were there for a little time."

"We just completed our stay at Mara Intrepid camp. It was an unforgettable experience! Great location right on the Talek River. Excellent food with lots of options (plus a full bar), and the staff really go out of their way to ensure the comfort of each and every guest. The tents have lots of space and all the comforts we are used to at home. If you’re booking a safari game drive with them, do insist on a Toyota Land Cruiser over the Land Rover."

"This camp has given me mixed feelings, and I will share their st ong points as well as where they lack practicality. The camp, although seasonal for now, is wonderfully organized, well designed, hint of vintage British explorer era, but good quality furniture and linen. The staff was great, very attentive and sensible with our needs, woke up early to assist us in the time leading to our balloon safari, at 5 AM, and we're flexible with meal hours during our stay, we greatly appreciated everyone! Truly hard working team and a great team leader Parrick! The part where they lack organization is in the reservation department and communication with guests prior to your arrival. In our case, as self driving guests, we arranged our own permits and paperwork for the park, however the bed allocation number, which is crucial to enter the park, needs to be prepared in advance, and obviously communicated to the guest, for a seamless entry! In this scenario, they never prepared one, never communicated with us and had no means of communication in case of emergency! We paid in excess of $1000/night and were not even able to spend the first night there, as there was no way to reach them and ask for their assistance with the park entrance. The ranger at Klein's gate was upset for the lack of communication and not being able to reach them through anyone. We wasted over 1 hour trying to find other companies that could get us contact information to reach them. Unacceptable! "

"This place is awesome! The tented structure was awesome and the bathrooms attached to each structure were modern and clean. After just a few short hours of being there, the Maasai guards knew who we were and where our tent was. At night when it was dark, they would walk with with us shining a light to make sure we could see. The food was 10/10. When I went to the bar and asked for a bottle of water for my room, they brought it to my tent. The whole staff was so friendly and the service was outstanding! I definitely hope to return because it was such a great experience. They also had a really cool traditional Maasai dance one night during dinner. "

"This is a camp so amenities are pretty basic. That is very understandable. If you’re a light sleeper, you might not find the area conducive for you as hippos could get loud at night. My biggest issue with this camp is that by default they would clean the tent and rearrange your stuff. I get that cleaning is essential but as someone who functions in a very specific manner, I’d hate to find out that my things have been rearranged. I talked to the camp manager about this and he wasn’t apologetic at all. He just said there’s nothing he could do. Very rude!"
