Lovely 2-Night Stay
Our stay at the Carton house was fabulous. Our room was spacious & comfy, large bathroom and extremely clean. Check in was smooth and the ladies at the front were extremely helpful (i wish i had remembered their names). Make sure you go for breakfast! That was by far the highlight! Food was delicious. I would not recommend booking a dinner service at the Carriage House. My husband and I were extremely disappointed in the service we received for the price of our meal. We had a meal of equal quality through room service the following night! We would definitely return and stay for longer next time

Spectacular grounds, nicest and friendliest staff (reception/ grounds/ restaurants) and comfortable rooms. Indoor pool is brilliant, although SPA access is quite confusing. Check-in was fast, but unfortunately room wasn’t ready at designated check-in time (3pm), so we had to wait another 1h30 to have access, change, access pool with a kid, a bit disappointing for a 5 star hotel.

Golf Short Break
Shame there was a water outage during our stay, although totally understand it was outside of hotel control. However, ordered a hot chocolate for bed and it was luke warm, no cream or marshmallows and the fiver charged was a bit steep!

This is by far the best hotel I've ever stayed at! The staff is amazing and kind and helpful. The property is well maintained and I would recommend booking this hotel if you're looking for something quiet and relaxing. If you're looking for a spa treatment you must book in advance unfortunately we did not get an appointment despite asking the first day we arrived due to the bank holiday in august. The hotel provided water bottles and even the restaurants on site were incredible. This hotel is fantastic for those men and women hi like to golf or walk/hike. There are amazing trails. You could also add on his key or wine tasting. 11/10 stars for this hotel! Breakfast is included as well. Worth every penny. I will definitely be going back.

What a fantastic hotel. The history alone is worth the visit, the food is exemplary, the rooms clean and comfortable, and the staff were awesome and cooperative.

Amazing food but rooms are overrated… pity
The hotel setting is beautiful and food and beverage offerings were outstanding. I was rather disappointed by the upkeep of the very very expensive so called 5 star rooms. I was shocked by the lack of attention to detail in a 5 star hotel charging so much! Maintenance in the room was lacking. Dirty carpet, leather on bed frame badly scratched and worn. Wet marks on the ceiling, paintwork on walls tatty in places. Bathroom was underwhelming with cheap tiles and some even broken. Poor shower, it was tiny and something like we had in the 1980’s. Grouting was grubby and toilet brush holder was not only dusty but had something like faeces on it. Shocking…

Beautiful property with amazing grounds. Food is fantastic as is the service. Take advantage of the on-site bikes, a great area to ride. Also, we did horseback riding and archery set up by the hotel and they were the highlights of our stay.

Beautiful property and fantastic service
We had a great quick stay at the Carton house. We stayed in the “old” part of the hotel, and while everything else was great, some nature not so much. There were birds above our room that were very loud in the mornings, so sleeping in was not an option. Otherwise, the service and amenities are fantastic. The property and the grounds are beautiful, and just walking around was worth it. There are a lot of inclusive experiences such as walking path and free bikes.

Staying outside of Dublin
This stay exceeded our expectations. Great breakfast and bar area. The grounds were spectacular and the building was a mix of classic and modern architecture. Staff arranged for us to get a taxi for Saint Patrick's Day parade in Dublin too.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, property conditions & facilities
We stayed here with our two year old son before returning home to Canada after a trip to visit family. Accommodations and grounds were incredible. Beautiful estate, food was incredible, staff service was well beyond expectations. We will definitely stay here again - and for longer next time.
