The restaurant staff had had little to no experience and poor English. Didn't even occur to them to remove dirty plates and cutlery, we had to do it for them. Coffees were served in glass but without the serviette wrapped round the glass made it impossible to hold, had to wait till it was cold so we could hold the coffee glass. Fruits were frozen and tasteless. Eggs and pancakes were cold. Same with the house keeping staff, very little experience and poor English. When we asked them if they were going to clean our room they just stared, had no understanding of what was being asked. Five star hotels offer free of charge sparkling water bottles and cable TV. Air conditioning was unreliable. We had to put it down to 15 degrees to make it bearable. Arriving to a very warm room is very poor form. We were put on different levels when we arrived, the front desk manager seemed to think it was my fault as I had only just made the booking. When I corrected her and advised it was done months in advance, she said she would speak to the manager as she was not sure what had happened. How is it possible that no planning nor checking was done ? Lack of professionalism by a five star hotel for the sake of profit over quality.
