A reasonable stay in Carmel with a walkable distance to beautiful downtown area. It’s about a mile or less from the main beach—an easy drive or a pleasant walk if you're up for it. We only stayed one nite on our way through. The location was great. Short walk to the cute downtown area. The hotel is older and a bit dated but clean and cozy. An economical choice based on the area. Great fr a nite or 2. Id recommend staying here. Thre is no air conditioning so staying in the hot months would not be comfortable.

Breakfast was pretty good, but only seating for 8. Rooms are clean, but very basic and quite small. We had room with 2 queens. Refrigerator didn't work and neither did the alarm clock. Location is the best feature - just two blocks from Ocean Avenue with lots of shops and good restaurants nearby.
