I have stayed at Zur Post several times over the past 10 years and I am always impressed by the efficiency and friendliness of the front desk staff, and the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms. The breakfast is outstanding and the breakfast staff is continually replenishing the many available choices and keeping tables clear and clean. My only disappointment has been when I am not able to get a reservation because this property is so popular!

My husband and son loved that the gentleman loved the packers and badgers. Very clean and roomy. We finally had a little bit of air conditioning. The staff was helpful for suggesting where to get a great meal.

Quiet place after a day in crowded Munich with easy walkable dining options including in house. Liked the little bar area next to reception to get a quick drink for the room! Hotel was also close to public transportation into Munich and parking was easy with no surcharge. Very clean and friendly.

Convenient to Munich and Airport
Hotel located centrally in beautiful Ismaning. Clean and modern rooms. Fine traditional breakfast buffet. Few mins walk to S-Bahn with direct access to airport and central Munich.

Good and nice
Good and nice hotel in general. Service was great. There's a restaurant just besides the hotel, although it's not part of the hotel, so no room service. Reception is closed during midnight, so take necessary precautions if you will need support during the night.

quiet neighborhood, room and building were pleasant, breakfast was ample. nice adjoining restaurant which made eating meals easy. staff members were......interesting. not a lot of customer service skills but I think that is a cultural characteristic, perhaps.....

Hotel was nice, clean,quiet and comfortable. It's in a suburban town and has the feeling you are in a B & B. Train station is about 5 minutes walk and very convenient.Receptionist was efficient at check in and staff were helpful. Will stay again if ever in this part of the world.

Excellent facility near the airport and near downtown Munich. The staff is friendly and helpful. I’ve stayed here in the past and continue to be happy with the service. A great hotel!

Good location close to the S-bahn for the airport and getting into the city. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful. On the negative side, the room was very hot with no fan or air conditioning and the shower was horribly dangerous--unbelievably slippery.

Nice hotel for personal travel
big comfortable room, good location near restaurants and bars. nice breakfast. Very bad wifi, needs serious improvement for coverage and capacity. I had to place laptop on chair near door to get enough signal to get email. cellular coverage is poor in area (not hotel fault just a warning, had to leave cell phone next to window). Big bathroom but tiny shower stall, strange.

Great location. Easy access to Munich.
Staff (especially Elizabeth at the front desk) was excellent. She helped us find our way back and forth to Oktoberfest. Short walk to train, 25 minute ride to downtown Munich. Loved the town of Ismaning. It's a nice bead and breakfast place.. BTW breakfast was great.

Nice, clean hotel close to airport
8 minute walk to train station that can take you either directly to the airport ir downtown. Good options for restaurants nearby (including one attached to hotel). Only complaint was they need to get some new pillows! Otherwise, very clean, comfortable rooms. Will be staying here again!

The guy at the front desk the day we arrived was not very cordial. He seemed aggravated when we asked about the metro and any other questions we had. The next morning, we had a very pleasant experience with the lady at the front desk.

Great hotel, close to airport and Munich
I stayed here while visiting family and was pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff, hearty breakfast, clean and comfortable room, and the location. The hotel is within easy walking distance to several small shops and parks in Ismaning, and is ideally situated with quick access to the airport, main train station (Hauptbahnhof) and all of Munich via the inexpensive urban rail system (S-Bahn). It was a treat to stay here. The front desk personnel were pleasant, helpful, and kind, and the housekeepers were attentive and kept my room and the hotel very clean. Breakfast was complete with eggs, breakfast meats, cheeses, fruit, cereal, yogurt, many types of bread and rolls, and a wonderful coffee machine that dispensed several different coffee choices. The friendly breakfast room staff always greeted me in the morning and kept the tables cleared and the buffet full. There is a wonderful Italian restaurant on the premises. The family that runs it is warm, personable, and inviting. I would like to have taken more meals with them. The food was good, the ambiance warm, and the grappe delicious! I hope to make more journeys to Ismaning in the future and will always choose Hotel zur Post. Truly, a home away from home!

The host was very kind and welcoming, the room was very clean. Hot water and towel warmers in the super clean bathroom were a nice touch. The breakfast was outstanding, with a wonderful selection of meat, cheese, fruits, yogurt, bread, eggs, juice, coffee, etc. The walk from the Ismaning metro is 8 minues, but if you have heavy bags, I recommend a taxi. It is a nice little town. There were elevators, and I liked how the hallways light automatically turned on when you walked down them, a nice electricity saver. There was also a little bar downstairs, and in the morning a candy dish with breath mints and vitamin candies. Very nice!

Perfect Place for Oktoberfest!
Four of us stayed here for Oktoberfest. It's so close to the train station which runs every 20 mins to Munich. Ismaning is an adorable little town as well. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful especially to those in our group which did not speak German. The rooms were comfortable and spacious for 4, which is hard to find. The breakfast is out of this world! They even have an espresso machine. When we left at 4:30am on a Saturday, the dark lobby was filled with the smell of fresh bread which had just been delivered from a local bakery. Highly recommend!

Staff doesn't understand the cross-contamination issues with regards to a gluten-free menu. They would training for it. They are willing to help though.

Noisy hotel
We got a room at the Hotel Zur Post in Ismaning because of the convenient location between downtown Munich and the airport. Nice for early flights out. But, like many smaller hotels in Europe there's no A/C. So, to get any air in summer you must open the windows, which means you're subject to road noise and bugs. The night we were there, a wedding reception was taking place in the lobby area and it was really loud for much of the night. At 11 PM we asked when things might wind down and the receptionist looked at us like we were the problem. I mean, if you pay for a room, you should expect a room not directly over a noisy party, right? We also stayed at a Hotel Zur Post in Rosenheim a few years back and had the exact same problem so maybe the hotel is frequently used for parties? Don't know for sure, we just know that we'll never stay at another one. For those who don't mind noise, parking was free, breakfast was decent, and the S-Bahn was only a 10 minute walk. Good luck.

Sehr guter Service, freundlich, zuvorkommend. Gute Parkmöglichkeiten vor Ort, kurze Entfernung zum sehr modernen S-Bahnhof Ismaning. So kommt man schnell in die Münchener City. Gutes, mehr als ausreichendes Frühstücksbuffet.
