"Chris and staff make the whole experience awesome.
It’s located on the lagoon.
It’s home away from home. Toilet is cosy as you won’t be spending a lot of time in there but very clean.
Laundry facilities are available onsite.
BBQ is clean and new and conveniently located near pool area which is super. Pool is surrounded by sitting / eating areas.
Parking space is available if you want to brave the roads but buses are frequently available.
Eating places like Pad Thai is within walking distance...
"The staff are simply beautiful. All amenities are reflected accordingly in their description. New cabins being built which will be exciting for people travelling there shortly. Chef John is awesome! You MUST have his croissants for breakfast. Make sure to pat ‘Lucky’ the cat, he is adorable "
"Everyone was so welcoming and helpful. We stayed 6 nights in total and absolutely loved it. The food was delicious and the pool was so wonderful to swim in. We could borrow kayaks from the resort and kayak on the river too. So much fun and so relaxing. Thank you for a wonderful stay :-)"
"A lovely resort on Erakor island. Excellent staff. Lovely rooms with waterfront views. Free water sports. Gorgeous location. Definitely the best place to stay in Efate. "

Mangoes Resort
10/10 Excellent
"Absolutely wonderful week spent and Mangoes. The resort itself is peaceful and quiet (being adults only), the restaurant meals were consistently amazing and fresh and the staff were a stand out. By the end of our stay all the staff knew us by name and our favourite seats.
Highly recommend splashing out for one of the private pool bungalows, being about to have a private float after being out in the heat, or first thing in the morning as the sun rises was really special. Though there are 3 other communal pools that were more often than not empty.
The resort is located about a 15 minute walk from the main strip, which was fine for us but may be a bit hilly for those with mobility issues. In that case there are taxis and buses available. The local neighbourhood was incredibly safe, friendly and welcoming. People were genuinely friendly with no ulterior motives like some other touristy areas.
Reception staff were helpful if we ever needed directions, AC was great for us Tasmanians and will definitely be back. "
"Very good sleep comfort...mattress and pillows. Great breakfast menu and other dining options. Friendly reception, office, housekeeping and maintenance staff. Also management Any problems were resolved quickly. Like to return in 2026."
"Everything worked like clockwork. We left some of our luggage 1 week ahead of our stay as we were flying to other islands and there were restrictions on the amount of luggage. The Melanesian hotel allowed us to store our luggage until our arrival! That’s great customer service. The room was clean, large, and comfortable!"
"Quiet, peaceful, but exceptionally good value. Continental breakfast provided was not great, but we had cooking facilities and it was easy to buy some eggs and bacon. And we brought our own coffee. So all good. Restaurant not fast but food was always very good. And staff always very friendly and helpful. "
