"This hotel is surprisingly clean. Truly. Nice and bright, too. But, the elevator was out of order for days, which was a fairly minor inconvenience, but, come on. The pool is just silly. More like a large bathtub. Leave your swimsuit at home. The breakfast is fairly standard--nothing to write home about. Not fresh eggs, just that powdered junk that makes me gag. The coffee wasn't bad. The bathrooms are a bit dated, and the water pressure is non-existent. All Dove soap products. The AC and heat are provided by a noisy window unit. Hate that. The twin room includes two queen beds, which is pretty nice. And they were quite comfortable. Each bed gets FOUR pillows! That's a great touch. Parking is ample. The location is pretty good. A five minute drive from the main attractions--the marina, Balboa Island, and most restaurants. Walking is not an option. There's a fab little Italian bistro (Sol) right next door, though, owned by a goddess. Don't miss it."

"I was able to book last minute. It was a quiet room. Only stayed for a few hours to sleep so i didn’t experience anything other than just sleep lol. The bed was comfy and clean. And the room was dark"

"We have stayed here before. Nice rooms however dust on top of refrigerator mold on inside of freezer You have to ask for everything e.g. plates, toilet paper, utensils, cleaning service is only every two weeks"
Balboa Inn, On the Beach

"The property is in a perfect location - across the street is the beach and pier and in the opposite direction it is steps from the Fun Zone and the Balboa Ferry. They have valet parking but it is expensive. We parked in the public parking and had no trouble. They have a included continental breakfast with prepackaged muffins but literally on the corner is a nice restaurant for breakfast and in the "lobby" (breezeway at the bottom of the stairs) is a restaurant we did not eat at but is convenient. The pool is small and the jacuzzi was busy. We did not use them but they are on property. The place is bigger than it looks - it is mostly on the second and third floors above the shops and restaurant at street level. The room was smallish but the bed was nice."

"Room with “partial ocean view” as marketed does not see any ocean at all. Parking on weekends at the hotel is turned into valet and they give all the spots to people not staying there at night. Cleanliness great. Towels and bathroom great. Central location between the beach and marina. At night streets and bars dominated by 20 year olds."
