"The beach was a disappointment when we arrived because it was covered in seaweed. After several complaints and two days later they completely cleaned it. The water is very calm and pretty shallow. The pool is beautiful and this resort has a great layout. The staff is very attentive and friendly. "

"Food was amazing and the property was clean, staff was friendly and kind the only thing I would say Riu needs to work on the resort credit why give $600 in credits when it can only be used at the spa and it's not like you can use all of the credit for a spa visit they only take $40 off I think it's also fair to use the credit for the catamaran and all other resort activities makes a lot more sense otherwise the stay was amazing"

"The view from our balcony was spectacular. The hotel was recently renovated and was clean. The parking was adequate and the breakfast was excellent and included. We enjoyed visiting with the staff as well."

"Jamaica was incredible, but our stay at Bahia Principe in Runaway Bay was disappointing. Check in was very slow, and our room was not properly cleaned. There was dirty underwear under the sink. Our friends were double booked and were asked to leave their room after another couple was checked into it. Their replacement room had double beds instead of a king, and the entire process took from 3:00 PM to about 5:30 PM. Service across the resort moved slowly. Even when you are being helped, staff stop to assist other workers who interrupt. This happened while checking in, booking excursions, getting drinks, and making dinner reservations. The resort app never recognized my reservation, so I could not book dinner and had to wait in long lines at guest services. Room service never answered the phone. We were not told that half the resort was closed due to hurricane repairs. Only four restaurants were open, and most reservation times were unavailable unless you wanted to eat at 9:30 PM. When we arrived for our 9:30 reservation, we were told we were too late to experience the full menu. Both parties in our group were promised complimentary massages by the manager, Amir, but the spa had no record of it and Amir never followed up. Jamaica itself was wonderful and the snorkeling was amazing, but I am not sure I would return to this resort."
