"Everything was excellent, from caring staff, property condition and food. Please note that there is no lift, but they take your bags up and down (2-4 floors). Free coffee/tea in their cafe/bar. Onsen was also very good. Room was spacious and we were allowed an early check-in. Highly recommended if you are visiting Chuzengi. Take care driving up the winding road during winter."

"It’s hard to say what the most important thing is for a hotel stay. Is it 1) the property and room, 2) the food or 3) the staff? Well, it doesn’t matter with this property cause you’re winning on all 3. Quiet location at the end of summer/beginning of autumn, room size was good, room was clean, bed was fairly comfortable, bedding was great (the best pillows of the 8 hotels I’ve stayed in Japan). "Great room loved the semi outdoor bath. Good location in Nikko and friendly staff. Wonderful couple of days. Delicious dinners and breakfast. If anything, maybe a bit less tofu in the meals, I know it is a specialty. Would highly recommend. "
