"We decided to stay here and enjoy a round of golf - our first time to do so in Japan! I'm happy to say it was an excellent stay. Golf was amazing and the staff were all the best! Hotel is managed well, and is clean - although it could use some updating... it's overall presentation is great. Food at the club house and resort is excellent, however, it would nice to have a small convenience store nearby or on the property ... If you want to try the French restaurant, you need to make a reservation 3-days in advance! Onsen and sauna was very nice. I recommend it after a day of play on the course to refresh before or after dinner! One of our favorite places to visit was the 7th floor bar, where Atsuko-san (our busy and hardworking bartender), took great care of us. Ask for her martini or old fashion - delicious! Best part was that I could enjoy a cigar indoors here with her tasty beverage! I really wished I could buy the ashtray they had at the bar! Toyoda-san speaks fluent English and is always ready to assist foreign visitors ... I shipped my golf bag ahead of time from Narita and it was ready for me when I arrived. I then shipped it to Haneda for my return to Guam and it was waiting for me like a puppy at home. If you want to play golf and get off the grid, put this country club on your short list. One thing I wished they had was branded merchandise. There is no polo or golf bag tags that you can buy with their logo on it ... I will be returning again!"

"My stay at Route Inn was what I needed which was a place to stay for the few nights I visited with a friend who lives in the area. The hotel is a bit dated but the room was comfortable and I enjoyed the breakfast. "

"Our goal for our trip to Japan was to hike Mount Fuji, but one of the unexpected highlights was our stay at the Kappo Ryokan Uoichi! Post-hike, we moved from Tokyo to Osaka with a stop at the Ryokan in Shimada. Two families (eight of us) stayed at Kappo Ryokan Uoichi and had a wonderful time. The building is a 150-year-old restaurant, and the stay included a shared bedroom with eight futon beds, an adjacent family room, a private bathroom, and a shared onsen. It was by far the best night's sleep I had during the entire trip to Japan. The 12 – 14 course dinner was excellent and served by the super friendly and accommodating staff (they accommodated my meatless diet (fish and seafood are acceptable for my diet and were delicious!) The stay was so peaceful and restful and a nice reprieve from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo and the other big cities. It was like a time warp back to when you would sit down with your family and friends and have a great meal with great conversations and no electronic distractions. I highly recommend a stay here and will definitely return again on my next trip."
