"On arrival we were greeted by the 2 staff on duty and after a short wait (because we arrived early and a room change) we were shown to the room and the breakfast was explained to us as was the after hours procedure. All staff we met were very friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was very good, lovely to be able to sit outside and enjoy the early morning sun. It was also nice to be able to sit outside in the evening The room was clean and we had a fan to help try and keep the room cool during the heatwave. The bed was comfortable and not at all like some hotel beds where you both roll to the middle if one moves. The floor creaked a lot, but hey, the building is centuries old. Lovely to have the mahoosive bath, and right by the window. Our dog enjoyed the attention of staff of which he got quite a lot. He was given a sausage for breakfast but showed no interest in it, which was his misfortune. The hotel is ideally sited in the centre of town for anything and is ideal for local shops etc."

"Excellent location: quiet and convenient for Longleat. Spacious room with mini fridge that had juice, water and fresh milk, much appreciated! Comfortable bed and really big. Nice bathroom with all you need, even cotton buds! Excellent shower. Delicious breakfast, full English cooked to order. Really nice pub with delicious food, especially the pork bap. Definitely recommend. Negatives: Room not very clean, lots of dust everywhere that clearly had not been cleaned for a while; that was disappointing. TV signal rubbish so could not watched much. Despite the negatives, I would stay again though."

"An excellent stay with a large well decorated comfortable room with a super king bed. Strong shower. Dinner was very tasty and we had the cheese and onion pie and gnocchi. Bar staff were very attentive. This was a great place to stay"

"We arrived @ about 21.30pm, the self check in worked well, the instructions were clear & concise. The pub is closed on Sunday evenings, there was another couple sitting outside the pub, enjoying the evening air. Our room was clean & comfortable. Plenty of hanging space. The bathroom was clean & good thick fluffy towels. Tea/ coffee making facilities were adequate, only one packet of biscuits to share. The chilled complementary water was very welcome, as were the fans in the room, on a hot sultry evening. Breakfast was self service, there was an excellent choice of lovely fresh fruit, cheeses, salami, yogurt & a range of cereals. The bean to cup coffee machine was easy to operate. The only thing missing was a toaster for the lovely bread. I read the notice explaining the fire alarm issue. It was a successful stay, after visiting our nephew in Freshford. Thank you, we will be back."

"I went to Limpley Stoke Hotel for my son's wedding. They arranged for it at the hotel about 14 weeks ago. The venue was excellent and the wedding, breakfast and evening party went flawlessly. The food was tasty, hot and plentiful. The bar and outside terrace was great, plenty of room to move around, everyone really enjoyed themselves. The bar itself had plenty to offer drnkwise and the bar staff were cheerful and professional. The rooms were spacious ,spotless and well stocked with tea/coffee etc. There were around 60 of us at the wedding and I thought it was an idea setting, just the right size although I'm sure larger parties would find it just as idea. Overall, it was a brilliant Hotel and venue. I would recommend Limpley Stoke Hotel to anyone as an idea spot and very reasonable priced ,the weather was great as well. Well done and thanks to everyone at the hotel. Tony Hughes."
