"Staff was helpful and knew the area. The bistro was a little fast food-like but had a bar and great staff. I didn’t have time for the pool or gym but they were close to an elevator that wasn’t crowded. The room was stocked and refilled with coffee pods. Only negative was the sound of wires or something banging in the wind outside my corner room on the sixth floor that woke me from sleep. PS. There is a daily fee for mandatory valet parking and relatively few alternative options (the Valet Staff was also great)."

The listing says there is no front desk attendant, but that’s not right. There was a front desk attendant the entire time we were there. We paid for valet and it was worth it. "Stay here 2-3x per year. The most striking thing is the staff all seem to genuinely enjoy working there. i stay in the Annex next to the Avalon because it is quiet and i like the quirky vibe. Usually i leave the car parked and walk most places. The location is perfect for reaching the museums and galleries. "

"I showed up to check in and they didn't have any rooms even though I had a reservation for 2 nights. It was booked as 2 separate reservations because my trip plans changed. Hotels.com app shows I stayed 1 night and the property canceled the 2nd leaving me stranded. There was an event in town sold out properties everywhere."

"Excellent location. Everything is within walking distance. Rooms were clean. Staff is small and not present 24 hours but friendly. Bathroom was tiny but manageable. Bed was comfy. More like an ABNB than a hotel. Parking was a block away. Great for a quick night or two in the town. "
