"Wanted a lower cost place to stay outside of Edinburgh. Older building/guest house. Worked great for a budget place to stay while exploring this area of Scotland. "

"The property was clean, quiet and comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised to find complimentary milk, bread, jam and tea at the property as well as a welcome note and small reference manual for our stay. Of particular note were the sunrise and sunset ocean views both from the property itself and on the half-mile walk from the property to the train station. If you take the train from Edinburgh to Kinghorn in the evening, you might catch the sunset over the bridge- Gorgeous! We had a lovely time...

"This guest is a really lovely place to stay, 20 minute walk from Wavery train station, plenty of places to eat 5-10 mins walk away. The building itself is stunning and the continental breakfast is a bonus we weren’t expecting!"

"Room was clean and comfortable, with a nice range of tea/coffee and a good set of cutlery and crockery for nibbles at home base. Cleaning daily was fantastic and efficient. Well placed on the team for easy access into New Town and Old Town, and some lovely spots around the hotel itself for breakfast and drinks! "
"I had the pleasure of staying at the Fingal Hotel and it was truly an unforgettable experience. I booked this for my husbands birthday. From the moment we stepped aboard, the attention to detail was evident.
The staff were exceptional — friendly, welcoming, and incredibly attentive without being overbearing. They made sure that every aspect of our stay was perfect, offering recommendations for local sights and even helping us arrange some special requests.
Overall, Fingal Hotel offers an unforgettable experience that blends history, luxury, and amazing hospitality. Whether you're a local or a visitor, it's a perfect spot for a special occasion or a romantic getaway. I highly recommend staying here and will certainly be returning in the future!

Holiday Inn Express Edinburgh - Leith Waterfront by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"Excellent location for a stay in Edinburgh as the tram directly into the city is a few minutes' walk away. The hotel staff were excellent (James looked after us well) and the breakfast was plentiful and well-organised. "
"Clean room with spare blankets for colder night but room was warm. Bed was an actual double/queen not two singles pushed together. Shower had good pressure with extraction fan. Pub close had good deals with friendly helpful staff (shout out to wendy for helping with postage and other local questions)
Breakfast had a good selection, was quick for service and tasted good."
