"I spent four nights at the hotel and had a really fantastic time. Upon arrival I was greeted by very friendly staff and taken too my villa (Masai). The path to approach was surrounded by shrubbery which hide elephant shrews. Soon after I settled in I received a fruit platter and complimentary glass of white wine. At 5-6pm tea and cake was served at the bar every day. For dinner I was expecting a buffet, but instead I had a six course meal varying the menu every night. Chef was fantastic! The villa itself was spotless, very large and all the staff were superb I would like to make special mention of Maria one of the waiting staff who stood out. This is a great place if you really wish a bit of peace and quiet after safari. I would definitely revisit this hotel. I could not fault it."

"We had an amazing stay at this hotel in Zanzibar and would highly recommend it, especially for families or anyone looking for a relaxed break rather than the more touristy feel of some of the other beaches and resorts. The hotel is beautifully located close to the beach, with each room being very spacious and easily accessible. The breakfast buffet is vast and really good with crepes and omelettes made to order! We especially enjoyed the Masai dancing and the Italian-themed seafood barbecue held right on the beach. The staff were extremely attentive and genuinely made us feel well looked after. The nightly turn-down service, including having the mosquito nets sprayed each evening meant we were not plagued by mosquitoes each night - the staff paid attention to the little details, and nothing ever seemed too much trouble. There is also a tourist company located on site, which made organising day trips very easy. Taxis are readily available, and it is only around a 20-minute ride to Kiwengwa where you will find another fabulous beach and plenty of restaurants to explore. What really stood out for us, though, was the atmosphere. Rather than feeling like we were simply staying in a hotel, we felt as though we were being welcomed into a family. The warmth and friendliness of everyone made it feel like a true home away from home. A huge thank you to Santosh, Suzan, Charles and Frank for making our stay so special and for making it feel like home away from home."

"We visited The Island at Pongwe as the final stop on our honeymoon to Tanzania and Zanzibar and it was the perfect way to conclude an incredible trip. Set on a coral island just off of Zanzibar, the Island Pongwe is run by the amzaing Michela and her team. The island feels like pure rustic luxury and prides itself on being as sustainable as possible - they source food and materials locally. The service was amazing and we were greeted by the team who showed us to the Villa - a room with an incredible vista of the Indian Ocean. We were also kept company, by the islands dog, Ara, who was so sweet. The team were very helpful in organising a Dhow sailing experience with the local fishermen/sailors. At low tide you are able to walk out towards the reef - just watch out for sea urchins! The food was incredible and tasted so fresh. We were also lucky enough to be treated to a performance by local Masai on our final night. 10/10 - would definitely recommend even at least 1 nights stay here - it's so worth it for this little slice of paradise."

"Beautiful Location right next to the ocean. The room was clean and well organized and decorated tastefully. Natural wood everywhere, paintings of African artists and African fabrics used in interior- good idea. 2 pools, clean and not crowded. Delicious food in the restaurant, amazingly tasty actually. And the most welcoming staff.👌Recommended"
